Lawsuit Challenges (US) Govt’s Right to Assassinate US Citizens

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) filed a lawsuit today challenging the right of the Obama Administration to assassinate American citizens outside of any current war zones.

“The United States cannot simply execute people, including its own citizens, anywhere in the world based on its own say-so,” insisted the Executive Director of the CCR Vince Warren.

The Obama Administration however insists that it can do exactly that, when National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair announced to Congress that US-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, against whom no charges have been filed, was on the official CIA “assassination list.”

Wikileaks Servers Move To Underground Nuclear Bunker

Internet service providers often tell their clients that they offer “bullet-proof hosting.” Whistle-blower organization Wikileaks, it seems, will settle for nothing less than “bomb-proof.”

Winston Churchill once said (prior to being knighted) "The truth is so precious it must be protected by a bodyguard of lies"

Nowadays, it would appear that it requires something rather more substantial.

A trillion-dollar catastrophe.

Mission accomplished? The Iraq war did more than anything to alienate the Atlantic powers from the rest of the world

today the Iraq war was declared over by Barack Obama. As his troops return home, Iraqis are marginally freer than in 2003, and considerably less secure. Two million remain abroad as refugees from seven years of anarchy, with another 2 million internally displaced. Ironically, almost all Iraqi Christians have had to flee. Under western rule, production of oil – Iraq's staple product – is still below its pre-invasion level, and homes enjoy fewer hours of electricity. This is dreadful.

Some 100,000 civilians are estimated to have lost their lives from occupation-related violence. The country has no stable government, minimal reconstruction, and daily deaths and kidnappings. Endemic corruption is fuelled by unaudited aid. Increasing Islamist rule leaves most women less, not more, liberated. All this is the result of a mind-boggling $751bn of US expenditure, surely the worst value for money in the history of modern diplomacy.

Obama Lauds Fake End to Iraq War as ‘Historic Moment’

President Barack Obama tonight made his carefully choreographed “end of the Iraq War” speech, assuring Americans that this fake end, as opposed to the other fake ends, stands as an “historic moment” in American history and a “milestone” that “should serve as a reminder to all the world” of America’s military leadership.

Little attention was given to the 50,000 US troops still fighting in Iraq, beyond a vague mention to “transitional forces protecting our civilians.” The speech rather focused on the illusory military victory and included claims that security problems in Iraq are among “the lowest on record,” in spite of dramatically escalating attacks on the ground

Well, if Turkey can station 45,000 troops in a place the size of (half of) Cyprus, what's 50,000 US troops for the size of Iraq?

(NB to those too stupid to understand the above: If the USA is as big a criminal as many here agree it to be, then Turkey is many more times worse!)
