The Sins of Guantanamo

We're keeping detainees in the camp because we're afraid of things they haven't done yet?

When it comes to being detained indefinitely at Guantanamo Bay, it's not so much what you know as whom you know. Or whom you are alleged to know. Or whom you may know. Someday.

Appeals Court Extends President’s Wartime Powers,
Limits Guantánamo Prisoners’ Rights

On the eighth anniversary of the opening of the “war on terror” prison at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, the implications of a ruling last week in the federal Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia have added another layer of uncertainty to the prisoners’ future, in a week that was notorious for a barrage of lies and misinformation and a promise by President Obama that he was freezing the release of all Yemeni prisoners until further notice.

Brits: US Won't Help Allies Beat IEDs

The United States was accused last night of refusing to share with Britain the latest technology it uses against roadside bombs which have killed scores of Allied troops in Afghanistan.

U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Thomas Metz, who retired last week as the chief officer specialising in countermeasures against the attacks, claims the UK and other Coalition forces have been denied information that could save lives.

These detainees are not innocent individuals , they pose a real threat to the West , they should be eliminated or kept incarcerated until such time that Islamist extremists are defeated.

And what exactly is this "real threat" from an individual who is innocent until proven guilty, against a superpower? :?

Miltiades, I sometimes wonder… do you go through transcripts of G.Bush’s past statements and just post them here?

Obama rushes aid to Haiti, vows unwavering support'

_ _ _

According to GR's antiwar website...earthquakes are caused by the US. I know! His views are odd, sort of like the shape of his head. Maybe he can explain to us why the US is pumping so much aid to Haiti in its time of crisis.
