“The charity group Swedish Committee for Afghanistan expressed outrage today in reporting a US attack on a remote hospital being operated by the group. The troops burst in to the hospital without explanation and conducted a full and rather violent search of the facility.

The troops reportedly tied up several employees and the family of some of the patients, ordered the bed-ridden patients out of their rooms and smashed down several doors, including the door to the malnutrition ward. They did not arrest anybody, but upon leaving ordered the staff to report anybody coming to the hospital to seek treatment before the treatment was provided.”

[quote="Get Real!"]Troops Too Drunk and Hungover to Answer for Afghan Killings

“After a Nato airstrike killed as many as 125 people last week, General Stanley McChrystal was keen to get the situation under control — fast.
When he tried to contact his underlings to find out what had happened, however, he found, to his fury, that many of them were either drunk or too hungover to respond.”

The sham of closing Guantanamo

“It's now apparent that the biggest sham in American politics is Barack Obama's pledge to close Guantanamo and, more generally, to dismantle the Bush/Cheney approach to detaining accused Terrorists. In August, 2008, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Boumediene v. Bush that Guantanamo detainees -- people abducted from around the world and shipped to our prison in Cuba -- have the constitutional right to habeas corpus (a court review of their imprisonment).”

In the film 'Fahrenheit 9/11 it was stated that the Bush administration was about to do a deal with the Taleban over a gas pipeline. Human Rights must have been high on the agenda then. We went to Iraq over oil and we're fartassing about in Afghanistan probably over gas and not nation building. They are a tribal country who have pushed back all oppressors. War makes money, its that simple!

Documents Suggest DOD Failed to Probe Alleged War Crimes

“Last month, Attorney General Eric Holder announced that he would investigate only CIA interrogations that appeared to have violated the agency’s rules and guidance from the Department of Justice. The Jawad case, however, reveals that U.S. military interrogations also violated well-established laws and appear to have violated the Justice Department’s legal guidelines as well. The newly obtained documents also reveal that the Department of Defense repeatedly failed to follow up on complaints by Jawad’s lawyers that its officers were breaking the law.”

American stupidity knows no bounds...

Pentagon hires British scientist to help build robot soldiers that 'won't commit war crimes'

"The US Army and Navy have both hired experts in the ethics of building machines to prevent the creation of an amoral Terminator-style killing machine that murders indiscriminately.

By 2010 the US will have invested $4 billion in a research programme into "autonomous systems", the military jargon for robots, on the basis that they would not succumb to fear or the desire for vengeance that afflicts frontline soldiers."

Study: Disagreements Over Who Is a Terrorist Undermining Civil Liberties

“A new study from the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) at Syracuse University cautions that the inability of federal agencies to agree on exactly what is meant by “terrorist” is “weakening efforts to use the criminal law to combat terrorism and at the same time undermining civil liberties.”

Why can’t these stupid American citizens understand that a terrorist is just anyone the US government says!

Perhaps the US government should end all the bickering by redefining it as…

“A terrorist is everything we have said in the past plus anyone who investigates the matter any further!” 8)

Another War in the Works

“Does anyone remember all the lies that they were told by then-president Bush and the "mainstream media" about the grave threat to America from weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? These lies were repeated endlessly in the print and TV media despite the reports from the weapons inspectors, who had been sent to Iraq, that no such weapons existed.

The weapons inspectors did an honest job in Iraq and told the truth, but the mainstream media did not emphasize their findings. Instead, the media served as a Ministry of Propaganda, beating the war drums for the U.S. government.

Now the whole process is repeating itself. This time the target is Iran.”
