Cyprus isnt that brilliant

Postby alexjames2 » Wed May 13, 2009 7:30 pm

Why is Cyprus so expensive!? it has to be the most expensive place in europe. moved here a month ago, put my 7 year old twins in med high which although fee paying isnt in my opinion private. People are rude, supermarket cashiers look act as if they are doing you a favour by serving you...blimey... we are coming back to lovely windsor in august and the boys will be going back to the private school that i took for granted! i will never slag off the uk again... life doesnt resolve around the sea and sun.

Are you sure you haven't got this the wrong way round. What you are describing sounds very much like the UK.

yes i did do my homework! im not a complete idiot! my dad is cypriot from troodos. this is my experience. i am in a very fortunate position but i thought that life would be much better for my young twins. how wrong can you be. several mums from med high said that although they love cyprus , given the opportunity they would privatley educate their kids in the uk. you say that my last email sounded like the uk. in sainsburys you always get a smile and good morning...well 9 times out of 10. in carrfour larnaca they really are a complete nightmare! i have been staying at the golden bay hotel in larnaca for six weeks every summer and my experience as a holiday maker was lovely.....will stick to hols ...now i have just got to ship all my furniture and my car back..!

Alexjames .... extrapolating from your first post here on the forum some time ago, it seems to me, you may be running away from some issues ... :?

i was led to believe that cyprus gave one of the best educations. i now think that its probably only great here if you have lived in a not so nice part of the uk and your kids are at a not so nice state school. am i right?
