That is a most admirable virtue ....

But, I was just concerned that you may be avoiding issues which would make you (as an individual), content.

You mentioned you've split up from their father. Perhaps you miss him?

In the old days they used to grow gigantic watermelons in Menevi/Meneou. When we had family gatherings for a kebab picnic at a friends Tsiftliki/Chiftlik , one watermelon was more than enough. They used to have plenty water there.

Alexjames2

how lucky you are to be able to afford to send your children to a uk private school, what are the fees ? 11 thousand each.. what are they at med or any cyprus private school, 5.000e, of cause they are not up to uk private schools what do you expect for that price... i myself have found med to be an excellent caring school for my child, safety for my child is one of the reasons we live here, as far as i am concerned the UK is a very dangerous place to bring up children even the posh parts... it`s not Cyprus fault that sterling is rubbish, & yes all imported products are expensive compared to the local things, but this is Cyprus not a mini UK with the sun. are your children happy to go back to the uk ? or is it just you? such a shame you can`t settle.

i do agree though that our checkout girls could do with some customer service training... but compared to what they get payed to the uk then i also would be sullen.

Just a note that not all check out operators are miserable. The ones I meet in Limassol are very cheerful, but then again I just smile, try to be polite, show them some respect and have a joke with them. Try it, works wonders.

BTW I didn't do my homework is the answer. Where can I get the Keo please?

In the west there’s an expected superficial attitude when people meet which goes something like this… (Australian version follows…)

Person A: “How’s it going?”

Person B: “Good! …and yourself?”

Person A: “Good!”

I remember one time in Australia when I went to work rather late, I was asked the expected “How’s it going?” by a nearby colleague but having just replaced a flat tire in a suit I honestly wasn’t happy so I replied “Terrible!” …and that’s when about 20 pens just dropped on the desks and everyone turned around and starred at me with mouths wide open and in total shock that someone dared to deviate from the standard expected response! In Cyprus however, you don’t get that superficiality so people can be in whatever mood they want… something that I appreciate and never take personally.

i was led to believe that cyprus gave one of the best educations.

Who told you that? They all go to the UK universities.
