Unfair criticism about the husband background... agree with you alex, you did the right thing. The best thing my mother ever did was leave my father! They're both much happier now and I don't have to put up with the horror that was them together..

Regardless, Oracle has a point. It doesn't seem you are truly leaving because of education. I'm all for criticism, but to base your argument on Cyprus education solely on some obscure school named Med High is unfair. There is excellent schooling here, so if you wanted to stay, you could. You seem to want to go for other reasons. As I previously stated, if you lookup Cyprus performance with EdExcel you will find that GCE scores from students here are impressive.

Best bet... Limassol, Foley's. It's a lively town by the beach and everyone i've ever known has been so thankful to have grown up there and every year they are back (i'm not just speaking about Cypriots, there are school students from all over the world at the various private schools there, and I grew up in a very multi-cultural student-body).

As an FYI, Foley's doesn't let you take A-Levels in which you haven't passed at least the O with a B.

I don't imply that Cyprus is perfect, for one the Migration Dept. are xenophobic tossers, but I know the second I start a family (i'm still in my mid-20's), i'm getting the heck out of the UK!

tcklim thankyou for your reply.

There are some very good schools in Cyprus. Im feeling guilty that i took them out of their school in surrey. Bishopsgate is a small school, small classes and the teachers have nurtured them since they were three. Im sure with time they may have settled in but I was having sleepless nights worrying about whether or not I had done the right thing by bringing them here.
I am not slagging off the system at all.

How many times were you banned from Cyprus Forum?

Milti holds two records here... 8)

1. The most bans.

2. The most repeated life story.

:?

Watch it mate
I was banned on this forum ONCE for calling Paphitis stupid !!!!
Cyprus living banned me for telling someone that he had a chip on his shoulder.
As far as repeating parts of my life , not all of it so there's more to come , I think life's true stories are rather interesting to many people. Here's one for instance , true story that is , that happened in 1963 on November the 22nd , does the date ring a bell ?? More to come !
I've been banned from Cyprus Living four time and now my Wife has been banned for saying boo to the Black Dalek.

alexjames2, is the American Academy entrance exam more demanding than that of Eton or Harrow where you hope to enroll your children? :?

Hatter they are 7 years old and were premature twins so they need all the help they can get at primary school. They have a long way to go until secondary school by which time I hope they will have caught up

I am by no means an expert on private schools, in Cyprus or the UK, and certainly have no knowledge of the entrance criteria for 7 year olds. One could be excused for thinking from the context in which you mentioned Eton & Harrow, that the current choice was between E or H on the one hand, and their current school in Cyprus on the other. If your children need some help at primary school, are you sure the help will be forthcoming at the primary school where you hope to enroll them in the UK, more so than at a carefully chosen school in Cyprus? Not an easy decision, I grant you.

Hatter im going to send them back to the private school in surrey. A very small school, 13 children per class, even if they did get into the American school they would be lost as they have quite big class sizes. Maybe I am mollycodling them but its just how I feel. A hard decision to leave as they love it here but at least I can look back and say Isent them to one of the best schools with so many fascilities. Something I did not have.
