Talking about true stories , I think many people would find the description of events that surrounded Cypriot immigrants in the 50s and early 60s when the mode of travel to the UK and every where else, was by boat to the Ship that would be your home for 4 or 5 days depending whether you went through Piraeus , Brindisi or Marseilles . Now have I got some real stories to tell about that journey I made on my own at the ripe old age of 15

Close ! I met my wife on that day , four years later got married , our first born arrived a few years later on November 22nd !!

Hi alexjames2. Have you enquired about the American Academy in Larnaca. It was a good school when I went there a couple of years ago. I wish you all the best. We have our days here two and wonder what we are doing here. Sometimes it is hard. You can not let peole get you down. Keep moving froard. What you put into life you get back.

Hi JOJO yes I had a look at the Academy. Apart from the class sizes being 30 my twins wouldnt pass the entrance exam. How long have you been here and where are you staying?

I finished the AA. Went back to Australia and came back a few years ago. We still have our days!!!!

Do you know the date ?
I left on October 25 th 1961 on a French Ship named Phocea , not entirely certain of the spelling though. First port of call was Marseilles with streets lined with pretty girls that continually made gestures to us wide eyed Cypriots , I really thought they were genuinely pleased to see a bunch of green eyed Cypriot guys. I found out the ...hard way !!
