Blimey! i seem to have started something on here now...! Do the hard line posters on her have children? do they teach them to hate instead of forgiving and trying to find a solution.

tklim I have an aunty in Nicosia who said The grammer school and The English school were very good. I suppose if i really wanted to stay I would look into them.

cyprus grump! It isnt a problem for me! I was concerned with how the average person would manage financially, isnt this why tourism has gone down too. There are lots of elderly people here struggling

I've been here 6½ years now... in that time I've met several expats who have decided that Cyprus isn't for them...

I didn't have a problem with that - when we came out we didn't know if Cyprus would be for us either, moving abroad is a significant step. We decided that even if we hated it we would stay a year and at least be able to say we had a 12 month holiday! :D

However, those that have gone back have, without exception, done the big 'down' on Cyprus...

Too expensive
Schools no good
Can't flush toilet paper
Checkout girls surly
Tea bags too expensive
Tesco do 2 for 1 deals
Can't drive
Etc.

I don't know why they just can't say 'I tried it but prefer the UK'? They are basically demonstrating their woefully inadequate research with each and every sentence...

And you now claim that your concern is for others but it was you that started the thread "Cyprus isn't that brilliant" (I added the apostrophe for you) with the original post...

alexjames2 wrote:Why is Cyprus so expensive!? it has to be the most expensive place in europe. moved here a month ago, put my 7 year old twins in med high which although fee paying isnt in my opinion private. People are rude, supermarket cashiers look act as if they are doing you a favour by serving you...blimey... we are coming back to lovely windsor in august and the boys will be going back to the private school that i took for granted! i will never slag off the uk again... life doesnt resolve around the sea and sun.

(I didn't add the capitalisation and punctuation that was missing back into that lot)

I think you are making yourself look more and more stupid with each post...

Hah denizaksulu,

Are you from Kophinou?

We are neighbours I'm from Skarinou.

My grandfarther was Savvas the butcher in Skarinou, being a butcher and having live stock, he had a lot of dealings with Kophinoudes. have you heard of him?

Best regards

cyprus grump! we cant all be educated professors like yourself! so what if i dont use caps and punctuation marks, that doesnt make me an idiot. I still believe that cyprus ...oops! Cyprus isnt that brilliant.

Incidently I really am stupid to want to give my kids a private education in the uk! Should stay here really..the sun, the sea, perfect people, no crime, no immigrants, no rascism, just perfection!

I appreciate your opinions and i wouldnt call any one stupid. Here we go again. Rudeness

How the hell is Cyprus supposed to be united when you want to torture turks! maybe you lost a lot of property or even loved ones . my father lost everything plus a family member. we werent bought up to hate. your one liners sum you up!

Absolutely correct. Most people on the island do not hate either the T/Cs or visa verse. Oracle is rather unique I may add .

I'm sure I would know your father from Streatham .
Did you by any chance know Abraham who had the La Pergola with an Elvis impersonator ?

I went to school with Ibrahim (Abraham) in Kophinoiu 1956/7. A most jovial man he is indeed.

Are we talking about the same Abraham Hulusi ?

alexjames2,

when are you going back to UK, please make it as soon as possible so we don't have to listen to your moaning any more.

I truely believe that your problem is not with Cyprus but with yourself.

So hurry up and p--- o-- back to England.

The case was never whether I was nasty, rude or a women. The case was with your moaning and groaning. I really think you should seek professional help to really see where your problem really lies. I believe your probelms are more deep rooted than you think and it would be a shame for you to go back to the UK and find that your just as miserable there as you were in Cyprus.

Is this turning out to be the longest goodbye we have ever had?

I wonder if the checkout girls at the supermarket will be relieved to see her go too
