A sub-committee has started functioning at the Joint Liaison Office set up in the UN-controlled buffer zone.
The office was will make it possible for the two sides to exchange information on crime and criminal matters.
The sub-committee consists of 2 Turkish Cypriot and 3 Greek Cypriot members.
The Joint Liaison Office has started functioning in the UN-controlled buffer zone as agreed earlier by the two leaders in Cyprus.
The Office was set up with the aim of lowering the number of crimes committed and enabling the two sides to exchange information on crime and criminal matters.
Members of the committee would meet everyday between 8:30am and 1pm and would be in contact round the clock.
The functioning of the committee was very important for the security of the two sides.
