Get Real Turkey!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Get Real Turkey!

Very soon Turkey will have to face, what for her will be, a very hard choice...

The continued Illegal Occupation of one-third of an EU member-state and its shoddy "guarantorship"

OR

Continuing along the road to EU accession.

The choice may have to be made as early as the end of this year when the next point of the accession progress is debated.

So what's it to be Turkey? Continued outdated annexation dreams and direct interference and occupation of the north, to be forever condemned by the World or your tens of millions population sharing European prosperity and opportunities for progress in so many areas?

What choice Turkey?

As long as Turkey has the complete backing of the US their position on Cyprus will not change. As to EU accession, the Turks are in no real hurry to join and Europe is in no real hurry to welcome them. Result, total stalemate at the expense of Cyprus .

Byron please

Post a link - or the transcript of the speech - and point out to me the relevant bits to back up your thesis. I want to see if you're right or not.

I saw a program on Dutch TV two days ago about TURKEY joining the EU, during the program they showed a clip in English of Obama upholding the very close relationship with Turkey and its full backing for EU membership.

Sorry but I dont carry video recorders with me whilst travelling !!
