Have you considered that occupying and ethnically-cleansing Cyprus might not be an act of reconciliation? Your argument is just ridiculous. If you want to reconcile with Greek Cypriots then I suggest acknowledging their right to their ancestral land and homes is a good place to start.
If you expected Greek Cypriots to just meekly accept the occupation of their country then you have been badly mistaken. Greeks have lived in Cyprus for thousands of years. Invaders have come and gone. It's nothing new.
What you have to consider is what has happened to the Turkish Cypriots since the Turkish invasion. Isolated, a declining population, an economy in ruin, stateless, unrecognised. It's a dire situation. Turkish policy has effectively driven the T/Cs to near extinction - and yet it is the Greeks the T/Cs fear! Quite absurd. The Greeks could never have done such an efficient job. But you made your choice and must live with the consequences.
