I'm sure there was a clever point you were trying to make here. Pity you missed it.

You claim you know more than me. I cannot dispute that other than, feeling sorry that you believe that the only function of a 'Municipality' is collection of rubbish'. If that is the case in the RoC, then fair enough. Even in the north, they are far more advanced and deal with other issues too. I never try to be clever. That is not my purpose here.

Ok, seriously, in my opinion of all the functions of the Cypriot Municipalities in the 60's, their single most important function was the collection of rubbish. What do you think was their single most important function?

Sounds like something George Bush would try to say it, but couldn't either.!

My avatar was going to be the Trojan horse but I couldnt find a way to add it to my profile so I found a Greek Cypriot shooting an arrow in the back of a Turkish Cypriot he had just shared a meal with.....the point being never trust a Greek Cypriot with or without presents.

You have some serious issues mate... :?

And there I was, assuming VP was going all Hellenic on us and using an avatar of Eros!

Its all part and parcel of 'the proper functioning' of the area under its jurisdiction. Which includes 'rubish collection, maintenance of highways and public buildings. Providing amenities such as the provision of water, electricity to name a few. Many more and not just the rubbish you talk about.

That was the breakdown of papacy/Catholicism over the Greek Orthodox.

I often have wondered about the lost villages. Do you blame the Ottomans of razing villages so as to reduce their revenue?

I read that there are 200 villages less than what previously existed. I would nort be surprised if many were decimated by the plague and ensuing famines. If you have any credible info, I am listening.

These 'shacks' did have namesw on Venetian maps of 1570. Perhaps some were Latin and rather converting to Orthodoxy, (or Islam) returned to their homelands in France and Italy.
