TURKISH CYPRIOT ART CULTURE GETS ARCHIVED

The history of the Turkish Cypriot culture gets archived.

The Department of Culture of the Ministry of National Education, Youth and Sports, and the Cyprus Turkish Librarians Association, are jointly carrying out a project on `The Artist Folders`.

The project aims to allow people reach the digital archive of written, visual and audible information about the lives and art of artists who served the Turkish Cypriot culture.

Archives will be enriched with documentary films.
An automation system will be established to allow those interested to reach the archive on the internet.

The project began to take its shape when a documentary film of Ismet Vehit Guney- a famous Turkish Cypriot painter- was introduced with a press conference today.

Speaking at the event, the Head of the Cyprus Turkish Librarians Association Sibel Yemenicioglu said they have been filing all the data found which has its roots from 1940s
