If we were to go back to my analogy, it would be like a super computer we've created trying to work out what human life is like through the use of "execute.exe" or "000000000000000000000000000".

Saying "if God created the universe then who created God" is no different to the analogy I've given above...since you're using the basis of our lives (birth) and somehow trying to answer that of your creators...

That's a big if. You are basically saying that different rules apply "up there". Of course, if true, we don't know those different rules (unless you know different and you could enlighten the rest of us). In other words, it boils down to beliefs, and it is impossible to know at the logical level - the agnostic view.

Would it be worse than a sore head from trying to "know" the unknowable? :D

I used to be an agnostic, now I am not so sure. :D

I agree about it being impossible to know at the logical level, but come on, how is it logical that the universe and everything in it happened by pure chance? :?

Science hasn't even scratched the surface when it comes to explaining the universe (let alone God)... So far it's like a puzzle that they're trying to put together, using their own imagination to create the pieces a lot of the time, and to top it off they have only just about managed to open the box...

Maybe I'm wrong, but I believe that in the very end it will be science that proves Gods existence. It's through this science we know about the mechanisms of life, the universe and how it's put together so being a beliver in a God I feel there is definitely a link between the two.

I don't believe theres any proof of God to be found in holy books, but the wonders of science match quite well the 'higher, supreme, all knowing being' credentials imo... :D

Most people, have imaginery friends when they're children but they do tend to grow out of them; GRs obviously the exception.
