Mud in face of ROC as International arrest warrant fails.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Mud in face of ROC as International arrest warrant fails.

Postby brother » Tue Jun 14, 2005 12:02 pm

This was in todays kibris newspaper and is in turkish:

http://www.kibrisgazetesi.com/?newsid=21662&category=3

This is the Hellenic resources report, almost the same in english:

http://www.hri.org/news/cyprus/tcpr/200 ... pr.html#12

The jist of it was that Aziz kent is one of the tc who was supposidly had an international arrest warrant issued for him by ROC but on the 5 of this month went to the u.k via stanstead airport spent a week there, went to various functions and was not arrested as expected, it goes on to say that this proves the ROC is scaremongering and that they cannot do nothing and all this arrest warrant business is just been created to scare of potential customers in the TRNC and keep the isolation going on them.

brother!
We want to scare potential customers from what???
We want to scare potential customers to buy the land belonging to the TCs? Is this the land you are selling now in the north, or you are illegally selling our land? The GC land?

If you suggest, and you do so, that we are trying to wrongfully scare potential customers from illegally buying our land, then you agree and accept that this land doesn’t belong to us and therefore we are wrong to try and scare them.
Whom then does then this land belong to? To the TCs? Did you buy it from us? Did we sell it to you? No! Therefore you are supporting the trading of stolen land. GC land, stolen by Turkey and TCs with the use of the Turkish military force.

When things are not going on in the way we want them to be, then we start swearing...

Not a surprise, a fact. The UK does not allow the National Criminal Intelligence Service in London (NCIS) — the clearing house for European arrest warrants — to issue them unless they comply with the Extradition Act 2003 and Section 62 makes clear that GC warrants in respect of properties are not enforceable since the alleged crime — using, trespassing, occupying former GC property in the North — is not a crime in the UK and it is not one of the listed crimes in the EU directive under which automatic arrest warrants will be allowed. There is, of course, no evidence that the GCs have actually issued any warrants (since they are a waste of time). Intimidation is the purpose, though how effective that is proving to be is another question, since none of the 12 so far (the 13th was issued against a dead man) has atracted any attention in the international press. The GCs are in danger of becoming boring...a bit like this site.

Probably, you touched a very sensitive string brother, but still, the information you gave is very interesting since the business of issuing international arrest warrants for the usurping Greek Cypriot property was a huge issue in the arsenal of the government and this hand was played at nauseum to indicate the government's ability to deal with this issue.

Brother,
From way your posting was arranged, it could be easily misunderstood that the above comments accompanying the website link, are your personal views and not a translation of the content of the link. I do not know Turkish in order to have had crosschecked it, but never the less I do accept your explanation.
I suggest you make it more profound in the future that what you are saying is a translation of some text and not your own views on the issue.
To this end I convey my apologies to you for my previous posting.

I did try and make it clear by stating the "jist of it" at the begining but i apreciate your apologising and accept it but ask in future to talk to me before flying off the handle, i am a very opened minded person and respect all peoples views and have clear definitions that i see as right and wrong without the bias that accompanies most people.
