Are growing economic ties sealing the division?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

bananiot

not for the first time i find myself in agreement with you.

I have openly stated that it is my belief that most gc's are goodhearted open honest people. I believe that you and St Jimmy fall into that category.

Bravo Sir.

You do understand my friend that with the above statement you have buried me even deeper! The GC patriotic voices will spare no time to note that here is a GC who is commented by the Turks (the perpetual enemy) and of course this is the worst sin in this half of the plantation.

We heard of Vassiliou and Lord Hannay buying massively land inside the British Bases, we heard of the Ex-Mayor of Nicosia buying massively cheap wreckage buildings at the dividing line of Nicosia etc etc.The above incident simply adds something to the whole picture.

Is there any reliable evidence about the above? There have been many similar rumors before and after the referendum. Some of them were ridiculous and went as far as claiming that Socrates Hasikos (Alfa cable Channel owner) purchased one of the peaks on Pentadaktylos to install his TV transmitters! I say that one has to be 100% sure before making such definite accusations, otherwise the real purpose behind such allegations becomes questionable.

At the same time it is a well known fact that Mr. Kleanthous (no.2 in DHKO) has purchased TC land in Larnaka. apparently, there are some "NO" supporters who are just as interested when it comes to property purchases.

Nevertheless, even if the above information is correct, the legal purchase of land in areas that may be revitalized / developed after a solution (whenever this comes if ever), this does make absolute sense from a business point of view.

As for "Pontiki", this is not considered a serious or reliable source of news. And to the best of my knowledge it has nothing to do with a Greek newspaper that carries the same name but is much better informed.

Of course "Pontiki" is not a serious paper, but you and me say this. When the so called serious media, however, take the lead from "Pontiki" and report its nonsense as front page news and revelations, then one is correct to ask himself about the seriousness of our media. Of course, their aim is character assasination and anything that promotes their aim will do.
