Same thing as Sotos. My grandfather took the first name of his dad and made it his surname...we've kept that surname ever since.

My son's middle name is my dad's first name.

IN 50's 60's some other Cypriots ,with many childs ingnored also the rules and they named them "mixis,xapolytos,shiestis, xishiestis,mountas etc etc.no surnames- like the kings
