Letter to MP concerning Apostolides v Orams

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby EU Ctzn » Sun Aug 09, 2009 5:19 pm

It is once again a sad situation that this proposed letter is being used to gain political advantage.

It is clear that the ROC has been driven to such desperation that Civil litigation is presented as a means to achieve political victory over the TRNC. Civil litigation is ill suited to the Cyprus problem which is very clearly political.

One again,It is very clear indeed that Cyprus issues are political in all manners. As such the ROC should direct their efforts soley towards the political powers that have control and influence in the region. Any civil victory will have no immediate or much long term effect. Worldwide investors and supporters of the TRNC will likely move with the times and developments.

It is shame that many people see the Orams as the demon. The Orams do not have any influence over the TRNC or Turkish administration. They are mere pawns on the much bigger political chess board. There are many thousands of Orams from all over the world. Win the Orams case, possibly. Then the next and the next and so on. At over a £ million a pop. What a labour of finnancial ruin this could be. Spend the money on better things in the ROC and the population could really benefit.

Of course desperate politics leads to desperate measures. I see a long long road ahead that will untimately provide no real winners. The Island is culturally divided. No Court or politician will resolve this. People can and the People on both sides must get to the solution and stop wasting time money and credibility.

The mountain to solution is there. It will be hard climb for both sides. No one side will, or deserves to get the whole mountain. It appears that many people on this forum still aspire to get it all.

The GC's all or nothing mentality will lead to nothing. It always has and will always do.

All or nothing!?

We want what is considered justice and fair in the modern world yet you have no problem in a foreign power occupying and ethnically cleansing people from their indigenous homes.

Go ahead and moan with your nationalistic short sightedness - it's Turkey who is killing off the Turkish Cypriot community and culture - NOT US.

Viewpoint your a dick - serious. You come out with the most stupid lame comments for the sake of your nationalism. Infact your nationalism is so high you would choose it over the existence of your community. Go ahead and commit cultural suicide.

I wonder how many Turkish Cypriots would agree with what you just said? Are there any Turkish Cypriots left anyway?

Maybe it's what many Cypriots thought all along - not really such a thing is Turkish Cypriots only Turks of Cyprus who's allegiances lie with the colonial expansion of Turkey.
