29% TC State how was it Calculated?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

c. TC share of State land: (18 x 26.3) / 100 = 4.73

d. Total TC land entitlement: 12.3 + 4.73 = 17.03%

It seems that any calculation (rightful, that is  ) won't increase the TC land beyond 18%. (NO  :D )

How did they arrive at the 29% which is the figure quoted in the AP?

Yes, it makes you wonder why the GCs said NO to it!

Well no, in fact 17% is their MAX entitlement.... anything else is just blackmail!

Does anyone know, it was not plucked out of the sky.....this figue is nearly always quoted and the GC leaders do not object. It has alway intrigued me to find out and meeting a friend who took part I asked and he explained the formula, the deciding factor was the state land which was the key, the 50% being allowed for the return of GCs wanting to reside in the TC state.

They took the 17% you're entitled to and converted it to Euros! Image

18% of this 65% =11.5%
35% State owned land
50% of this 35% = 17.5%

11.5% + 17.5% = 29% this figure is always on the tbale now we know why.

VP the calculations are not as easy as that. 1% of land in the south does not equal 1% of land in the north. Try 1% in the south=10% in the north and you will be nearer the figure. Its current land values and not square meters of land being compared.

Got this from the horses mouth today.

If thats what Talat is asking, do you know what Christofias has offered?

Amazingly, it works out near-perfect when you covert the 17 to Euros!

17 / 0.59 = 28.81 !!!

Anyone who cares to find out where they got the 29% from can view the last AP here...
