I know most of the T.C's from Polis went to Serhadkoy/ Filia near Morphou and from Androlikou to Canlibel/Myrtou.As for Pano Yialia,I can tell you it is in very good condition and a very desirable location. The old schoolhouse is now a well-known taverna and the former inhabitants are in Syrianokhori, now called Yayla, very aptly and visit quite often,so there is hope yet for reconciliation between Cypriots.

We are a smaller population ad we looked after nearly all their properties all they did with ours is knock them down or intentionally leave them to deteriorate.

No VP, they look after arable TC land in South very well. They have been freely cultivating many goods on "stolen" TC arable land and then freely selling them to whatever country they wish. No one, including u and all others sued them abt doing this illegally. U, VP; just know how to argue with others, hours and hours just for amusement. All other who have the same mentality like urs just do the same. Just argue but no legal actions against it.

I agree now the TC counter claims will start as the TCs who have exchanged land in the south will now demand it back through the courts in the south who cannot delay or discriminate nor can they link verdicts to a solution being found....

There are methods and processes for him to get his land and if he does I will be very happy for him..

Now explain to me Halil, why are you so unhappy that its now harder for the foreigners to buy our land in the north?

DT ,
İ am not interesting if foreigner can buy or not buy . In here above man applied to ROC courts to get his land and desicion from Greek Cypriot court was he can not get his peoperty till solution of Cyprus problem . than he applied to ICJ .from his application 4 years passed and still he is not in list . Double standard .... thats what we call it ..... double standard ..... Thats what the man his complaining about . (they accepted his application yet he did not get the date)

Tatlısu is not in North Matmazel Anna ..... In his place at the moment electricity systems for Larnaka is installed .

We are waiting for your comment DT, or have you seen the light. What RoC is all about. I haven't used the phrase legalised thieves for nothing.

I think the old Turkish Cypriot name for Akanthou was Akatu. In his Historical Toponymy of Cyprus, Jack Goodwin (1978: 60) said that '[t]he name Tatlisu was given [to] this vill[age] by the T [Turkish Cypriots] w/ [with] settlement of the T [Turkish Cypriots] from Mari (also called Tatlisu) of LIM Dist in 1975'.

So, because the Tatlisu community (the Turkish Cypriots of Mari) moved to Akanthou, they took their community/village name with them. It was part of their community and their identity. I think that happened in quite a few places where whole communities moved to the same village. It wasn't nationalistic, it wasn't trying to destroy culture or erase history, or anything; it was a way of coping with the trauma.

(I think it happened more often when Turkish Cypriot refugees moved to a village that had no Turkish Cypriots in it before 1974, because if it had Turkish Cypriots in it, the refugees would pick up the existing Turkish Cypriot name for it.)

according to Denktash and your lot the problem was solved in 74. Your side invaded, your side occupied and your side chose to claim the tc state in the north. We have never accepted this solution.

Despite all of this unbelievably the Republic of Cyprus is still willing to play ball and has imposed a methodology and a process for TC's looking to get their property back. I do not know the details of this case and whether his property has been appropriated by the govt for public use or not.
