Declarations of race and ethnicity DO exist Copperline, although they look somewhat different to this… The point is that I can declare whatever I want provided it’s about ME and cause no harm to others.

The birth of labeling groups of people undoubtedly began quite innocently when someone at some stage in time, decided that some people over in some direction had one or more distinctive traits and so categorized them with a unique label so that he would more easily identify them! Nothing mathematical about it…

In Wiki we find that…

“An ethnic group is a group of human beings whose members identify with each other, through a common heritage that is real or presumed”

When it comes to ethnicity we can presume and peddle whatever we want because there is no “ethnometer” so to speak, to verify it.

Ethnicity is no different to a football team; choose a colour, an image, a slogan, a small following, and finally some advertising to expand membership!
