Church of Cyprus to sue Republic of Turkey?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Church of Cyprus to sue Republic of Turkey?

Postby The Cypriot » Wed Apr 29, 2009 5:10 pm

The ECJ ruling opens the door for other land owners expelled from the north to seek redress in the courts of EU member countries and to claim against assets the current occupiers may have in such countries.

Aside, of course, from the government of Cyprus the largest land owner in the north is the Cypriot Orthodox Church. What's to stop this bastion of divine truth and justice (not short of a shilling or two and certainly not a fan of the continuing Anatolian intervention) from pursuing the Republic of Turkey (and/or its subordinate regime) and seizing any assets it may have in the EU, eg. embassies, consulates, as compensation?

And what do you think Jesus would do?

WOW Difficult question my friend ... Am sure he would not have allowed the divide of your Island in the first place ! And would have prefered you all to live in peace and harmony ..as it should have been..to divide your Island and steal your birthright is an ultimate sin ! As to ask what he would do now .. .. Bring about Justice in a miraclous way

Although he wasn't known for being meek and mild when he saw all those evil money changers in the temple.

"It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves." Matthew 21:13... And then he smashed the place up!

Then the "Divine Intervention" of the Church of Cyprus may well be in order.

To Bring about Justice in a miaculous way ... might be just that thing ... but I would like to think the Lord would look to his commandments to bring about Justice .. yes ?

'Thou shall not steal' would be the commandment transgressed in this instance.

Surely divine justice, rendered through a church established by Saint Barnabas the Apostle himself – who, together with Saint Paul the Apostle, converted the then Roman proconsul Sergius Paulus thus rendering Cyprus the world's first Christian ruled country – would be entirely in accordance with the Lord's will.

Absolutely! And if they did that, I may reconvene Sunday Church attendance to add to their coffers in consideration of this expense. :D

And what do you think Jesus would do?

He would cry at the state in which he now finds His Island of Love :(

Then He would stand upon the Pentadactylos Mount and cleanse it of foul symbolisms.

He would heal the "Sick Man of Europe" which has spread, and make him see the error of his ways. Whereupon, Turkey will withdraw its troops and settlers and depart from these shores.

Upon declaring, "In my Father's house, are many mansions" ... all the GC refugees will be allowed to return to their rightful homes. :D

There will be great feasting over the whole Island with endless supplies of Pitta bread and fishes.

He will then walk over the Sea, to Turkey, and offer some leftover crumbs to them, reminding them of their station in life being akin to that of dogs .....

Amen! :D ... and Kyrie eleison 8)

Your faith is admirable, my friend. I trust you – and perhaps others similarly blessed – might pass on my sentiments to the Lord in heaven, as well as to his agents here on earth. For I am of the belief that divine providence can benefit from a helping hand.

Me too but they'd have to stop all this psalisman in koine - I can't make head or tail of it. And it wouldn't stand up in court.

I like this... See, O! I knew we could inspire the writer in you.

Hmm..... I feel Jesus's divine presence. And he has asked me to tell you that when he called Gentiles 'dogs' he meant it, not in a derogatory way, but to suggest that they would eat anything, ie. pork, unlike, of course, the Jews. So Jesus would not compare Turks with dogs because they too would avoid meat from the swine... perhaps with good reason.

Bless you.

Anyway, are you going to ring the archbishop or will I?
