VATAN claims that a PKK camp exist in the Republic of Cyprus

Postby RAFAELLA » Mon Jun 13, 2005 12:07 pm

Under the title “Here is the PKK camp in the South”, Turkish Cypriot daily VATAN newspaper (10.06.05) alleges that a military Kurdish camp exists in the Republic of Cyprus.

The paper alleges that the support the “South Cyprus Administration”, as it called the Republic of Cyprus, gives to terrorism has increased. It also claims that on the 28th off May, 320 persons were present in the new PKK Kongra – Gel camp in north Cyprus.

According to the paper’s allegations, the camp is located inside Lefkosia district, between the mountains, west of the Moutoulas and Pedoulas villages and before 1974 it was used by the EOKA organisation. The paper claims that it has received this information from “diplomatic sources” in the south.

The physical geographic location was grossly misrepresented. The facts of their existence are substantiated by sources north and south. The VATAN only heard about it from a diplomatic source in the south. Actually the Turkish Army tipped off some people about it months ago.

It is one of these things that they need to quickly and subtly get rid of.

If there was such a camp anywhere in Cyprus everybody would know it.In the free areas there are no military zones like in the occupied. In fact everyone can walk as near as 1 meter outside any military camp. There are no secret places, there is no place a civilian will not pass by at least once a day. If you look at the map there is a village every few kilometers even up the mountains where Moutoulllas and Pedhoulas are. After all don't forget the so many thousand hunters who virtually step on every single inch of the forests. A camp with 320 PKK men???? Some people have a very vivid imagination.

Diplomatic sources??? Yeah right, the diplomats don't miss anything in the salons they spent most of their time.
By the way JustAnAmerican if you bribe me with $5000 I will tell you where another 2 PKK camps are in Cyprus. You get a $1000 bonus if you guess where near the first one is.

I hate you when you overgeneralise a newspaper's article to whole Turkish nation. It's so cheap and shows your real face! It's so funny when you say RoC and Greece have no connections with PKK, while Abdullah Ocalan was arrested in a Greek embassy with a RoC passport. "These greeks can trick themselves but not us". Is this what you want me to say?

The way you talk, like "these Turks, such Turks, bla bla Turks, gypsies" are all generalisations, which I personally avoid to make.
