Not sure about your comments, I studied World History in NZ, a pretty nondescript Country, with no particular allegiances to either side of the Greek/Turk conflict except for my unbiased readings which leads to side with the Turks even after GELiBOLU!

For someone who studied “world history” how did you miss the humiliating end of the Ottoman Empire?

Firstly, the lease agreement was never terminated, the Brits refused to pay after Turkey sided with the Germans after the 1st World War. 'Divide and Conquer' and never pay ones dues was the the Great Empires motto!
