Again you have it all wrong Im waiting for the first arrests of Brits, hope it gets good media coverage.

So, what ever happened to the much championed British Lobby Group in the north that was not going to allow this ruling to happen.?

By the way, has Talat made a statement on this ruling yet, or is he hiding from the much championed British Lobby Group in the north.?

No statement yet but should be in the newspapers tomorrow, the lobby group will now push MPs in the UK to see if they can do anything to counter or delay this decision.

You shouldn't count your chickens before they hatch, lets wait a few more years to see what the effect will be and how soon it will be enforced.

With a judgement in place it will be enforced sooner than you think. I'm coming for my land too now

The BBC, Reuters, Bloomberg, CNBC, AP and any other networks out there just produced the most expensive campaign possible against future buyers in the occupied territories.

Titles such as "Orams ordered to demolish building!" or Greek Cypriots can claim homes back!! which are all quite inaccurate have made sure the Brit hobos in the occupied territories will not be able to give those stolen homes away.

PR is everything VP and we couldn't imagine a campaign this succesful in our wildest dreams.

To top it off we might even be looking at seizing some Orams assets soon in the UK of which I'm sure will be broadcasted even more.

Check out this headline.

Hello everybody, I have been away from this forum for some time but nothing has changed really. The same ignorant lot with a few exceptions.

Just let me remind you that this is not the end of the road as far as Orams are concerned.
ECJ: This is the supreme court to decide on EU law and its application. It is a kind of Constitutional Court over every court in member countries. Hoever it is not a court of appeal i.e. it does not decide if the judgement of the court of a member country was just or proper or not. So ECJ has ruled that ROC court judgements are enforcable in all member countries even if that judgement deals about a property outside its control i.e. TRNC.

ECHR: European Court of Human Rights is an organ of the Council of Europe set up after WW2 and includes Ukraine, Russia, Turkey etc. This court in effect acts as a court of appeal as far as European Charter of Human Rights is concerned. It is a fact that the house in dispute is within the boundaries of TRNC and Orams have not infringed any laws of TRNC. Irrespective of international recognition, everybody have to abide by the laws of the country they live in. ROC court ordered Orams to demolish the said house but they would be breaking TRNC law if they did this. Orams also argue that they were not given a fair chance to defend themselves. Furthermore ROC courts cannot be considered to be unbiased in this matter and hence a fair trial is in question. Also bear in mind that ECHR has ruled that the Compensation Board of TRNC is a valid local remedy. With all these considerations in mind, Orams have a good chance to succeed at ECHR with their case against ROC.

Putting the above to one side, now the UK court of appeal will decide if the ROC judgement can be enforced in UK. No doubt they will have to abide by the decision of ECJ but such enforcement is subject to certain EU regulations. Public policy is one of them but there are others too. So nothing is final yet and these comments above and I am sorry to say show nothing but widespread ignorance.

On the eve of the ECJ’s announcement of its judgment on the Orams Case, Britain issued a warning to its citizens who own former Greek Cypriot properties in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus that they could face imprisonment.

A statement issued by the British Foreign Ministry warned its citizens who own, sell or rent property in North Cyprus which is not named under the Land Registry Department of the so-called Republic of Cyprus, saying they need to be careful.

A sentence by the so-called Republic of Cyprus can be enforced in the European Union, including the United Kingdom, British officials said.

The statement warned its citizens of imprisonment up to 7 years.

It also warned that the Greek Cypriot authorities will seize any document owned by British citizens who cross the Green Line regarding a property owned in the North.

You are not very well informed. There is nothing further for the UK court to decide. They have to enforce the decision.
