The opening sentence in the ECJ ruling.
How on earth can YFred still beleive that the British Courts will overturn the judgement is beyond me!!
Ready for a little flatter Fred ? Put your money where your mouth is as I have done !!
£200.00 SAYS THAT THE BRITISH COURTS WILL RUBER STAMP THE ECJ judgement.
What say you Fred ? my certain winnings will be donated to a good cause and it wont be a bottle of wine !!

From the mouth of the Orams solictor......."It is not a judgement but a recomendation"

It's a binding and final interpretation of EU law or as stated in the ECJ website (http://curia.europa.eu/jcms/jcms/Jo2_7024/presentation):

"The Court of Justice's reply is not merely an opinion, but takes the form of a judgment or reasoned order. The national court to which it is addressed is, in deciding the dispute before it, bound by the interpretation given. The Court of Justice's judgment likewise binds other national courts before which the same problem is raised."

We shall see!. I have given you the words of the Orams solicitor

Don't forget that the license to demolish the house will have to come from the TRNC....It will never happen.

They are only after the Orams' house in the UK, if she hasn't sold it by now. They are not likely to achive anything else with this case.

They know that they will not even get that mate....All the Orams have to do is AGREE to demolish the house......The license will be pending.....This is purely political. It will serve to highlight the Cyprob though...Of that we can be thankful.

The Courts aren't stupid, they've seen all the dodges.

They will probably give the Harrems a period of grace to demolish, after which (daily?) cash penalties for the non-compliance we all expect.

Nothing to do with the Orams.....The license will not be issued and I am guessing that non- EU residence will move in 8)

The war goes on my friend.....You guys broke open your best bottles of wine for nothing. You should have waited and we could have had a glass together with a settlement and not a forced decision that will have no effect. What is really getting my goat is you Brits who are enjoying the benefits of my country in war time and enjoying watching my people suffer and the hands of a murdering corrupt government. I hope to be targeting you soon. Joining in the political fight against part of the island people so that you can benefit and profit from my country whilst I and my people suffer. You have no shame and hope you too get yours....You are no better than the Orams in this instance. Three glaas house glass is getting deeper at your feet by the second.

The option for getting back to the Zurich agreement was always your call Boomers.....Letting Makarios finnish the agreed settlement was always there also......The forced settlement of scrapping my rights is not going to work either... 8)

Been busy lately, inundated with work but slowly getting on top of it...

A solution doesn't have to mean aparheid Zan which is what Turkey is looking for...A political settlement is fine as it must guarantee everyones ownership of their land...

Political equality does not and should not mean grabbing land for a separate state...

Dr J, I think it was terrible that Greek Cypriots were killed when Turkey came in to protect the Turkish Cypriots and stop the annex of Cyprus with Greece.
But as always one shouldn't forget that Archbishop Makarios, the democratic leader of the Greek Cypriots actually called for Turkey to intervene also. And as a side note that Grivas admitted that if Turkey had not intervened then he would have wiped out all the Turkish Cypriots from the island.
I do think it is terrible that Greek Cypriots lost their ability to return to their homes, but no less tradgedy was to be had by the turkish Cypriots for an even longer period.

All I am saying is, are there none on this site that actually can speak the truth and show compasion for what the Turkish Cypriots suffered too and that their full rights have also been usurped.

Oracle, if this is "not the land of free milk and honey" then why does a greek farmer till the soils of my ancestors! Why are there amenities placed upon our title deeds that benefit Greek Cypriots and not a penny is put aside for their rent for me and my family. You need to do better than this to deserve not being called "bigoted, racist, self-interested, freeloader, brain washed and/or naturally masochistic individual."

Rubbish.

Even more rubbish... Grivas was dead months before the Turkish invasion.

All I am saying is, are there none on this site that actually can speak the truth...

What makes an ill-informed fool want to join CyProb debates and expose himself, is a much more interesting psychological phenomenon.

Have ever considered that Açikgöz is referring to 1967?
