Is this guy in his right mind? How can a Cypriot politician support giving Turks money for water to use to buy guns to occupy our country.

that is sooooooooo unethical .... no money to Turks whilst they occupy Cyprus

“On the north side of Cyprus, Turkish Cypriots want the pipeline to be built, but don’t have the money. They look to Turkey to finance it, and would like to sell the surplus water to Greek Cypriots.”

Image

“On the south side of Cyprus, a Greek Cypriot entrepreneur believes the money can be raised, but his government refuses to buy water from Turkey until it withdraws the 40,000 troops that have occupied northern Cyprus since 1974.”

This fool would sell his mother for a buck...

This begun its life as a study carried out by the EU to find out what is the best way to solve the Cyprus water problem. I have posts in this forum regarding this matter.

It is the cheapest, healthiest option which will promote peace in the region. That is the EU recommendation. Are we living in a European way or are we practicing 16th Century politics?

YFred .... we live in a world where Turkey is occupying our and where Turkey killed our loved ones and under no circumstances should Cypriot leadership support the Attila in further occupying our land.

When Turkey takes its occupying forces out of Cyprus then its all up for grabs. Unfortunately it is a political issue. money cannot buy lives

Each one waiting for the other to make the first move, will not solve anything. To remove isolation would cost minimum if anything to the GCs. It will lead to Turkish Ports Sea and Air to open, which will lead to free beneficial trade between GCs and Turkey. Which I am certain would lead to a better resolution than the Annan plan in favour of the GCs. It needs somebody from the GC side to grasp the nettle as it were and the problem will be solved. So far no takers. First one to take it will be vilified to start with but in the long run, he will be a hero for all Cypriots.

If Turkey was a peace maker she would abide by UN resolutions not lay illegal pipelines!
