Actually, if we can get a copy it would be great for all those laptops that don't have XP drivers.

It's not up to MS to provide support for, drivers, for hardware...It's up to the hardware manufacturers to provide this support...

I have a HP notebook and it came with VISTA, so I thought I would upgrade it to XP PRO...Everything was fine until it came to the wireless chipset...made by a company called ATHEROS...HP couldn't provide the driver so I got in touch with ATHEROS, while on their website they were claiming XP drivers for their device...They informed me that they couldn't help me and I would have to go back to HP...A non starter there...To get aound this I used an ATHEROS driver form a previous chipset and fixed the problem...

I am also an MS partner and I get all their products for free with multiple licences...I spoke with MS on a number of occasions and they confirmed that it's up to the hardware manufacturers to provide drivers and compatibility...

VISTA sucks big time and I see it as an interim step to windows 7...Windows 7 is built on VISTA platform...

Well Microsoft makes it sound like there's some kind of CD you run that converts a Vista to XP! :?

Which reminds me Boomers… I forgot to respond to your pm!

Sorry… I’ll do it tomorrow.

Just Installed WINDOWS 7 latest RC... it runs so smooth on my DELL Lattitude x300, which i guess is a kinda very low spec laptop, infact a netbook.

Just looked at the specs of a Dell X300 and I found it hard to believe that Win7 is that efficient on comp. resources.

I'll be looking for a dodgy copy then. What about driver support?
