"Widely accepted fact" ? Would you care to show some evidence to support this assertion ?

I was quoting the EU Enlargement Commissioner at the time, perhaps you know better, though you havent managed to satisfactorily reply to my original question!

You may be able to get Job seekers allowance from the UK. I have copied this from the DWP website...Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA)
Information about contribution-and income-based Jobseeker's Allowance if moving or living abroad.

Contribution-based JSA
You cannot usually get contribution-based JSA outside the EEA. However, you may be able to get contribution-based JSA in the EEA for up to three months if you:

are entitled to contribution-based JSA on the day you go abroad
have registered as a jobseeker for at least four weeks before you leave
are available for work and actively seeking work in Great Britain up to the day you leave
are going abroad to look for work
register for work at the equivalent of a Jobcentre in the country you are going to
follow the other country's system for claiming benefit
Income-based JSA
If you are going abroad permanently you cannot get income-based JSA.

You cannot usually get income-based JSA if your stay abroad is only temporary.

Check with your local Jobcentre or Jobcentre Plus office if you need to fill in any forms before you go abroad.

But you seem to have a strange attitude re Cyprus why would you want to come here to live

The Enalrgement Commissioner is not tantamount to "widely accepted fact". High-level inter-governmental arrangements are not necessarily communicated in detail to bureaucrat:eurocrats. Be that as it may, would you care to tell us in what way the cute Enlargement commissioner thought that Cyprus cheated their way in?

Accession to the EU is always subject to the approval and concurrence of all the existing EU member states. The implication of your comments is that all twenty-odd existing member states at the time were taken in by the crafty Cypriots. You really find that credible?

As far as your "original question" is concerned, I am under no obligation to find out for you how you can scrounge.

No DH999, you should take it exactly as read.

I cannot help noticing that you conveniently sidestep my challenge to your (IMHO) racist remarks. I have a lot of better things to do, but I can always find time to challenge propagandist remarks, whether they are propounded in good faith or not.

DH999 my advice is to stay in the Uk where you can scrounge to your hearts content.
You won't get away with it in this 'cheating' country.
With your attitude towards Cyprus you will just end up making a lot of enemies so why bother coming at all.

DH999 sound like the type of person that will come to "cheating Cyprus" expecting it to be like the UK, spunk his/her money away and start moaning and groaning about the culture and people before returning with his tale between his or her legs back to the UK.
