Getreal, I know you dont consider yourself greek and do not suport enosis even if hypothetically you could get it, but you must agree the above is a bit rich coming from a person belonging to a community who managed to loose half the island because they didnt want independence but union with another country.

Really? I know thats the kind of mentality you would love to persist but ten years ago talking about partition was pretty much a taboo now a lot of people mention their preference for it provided they get some land back. I have met plenty of greek cypriots who dont want to have anything to do with TC's. Thats in 34 years. After another twenty very few people will be talking about co-existence and anyone who can remember an era of co-existence would be dead by then. Eitherway, even if you wish to wait it for a few decades, its not as if us and turkey are going anywhere. We can wait with you. I cant find it now, but yesterayds politis had an interview with clerides also mentioning the new found attitude among some of 'us here and them there'.

That the TRNC will be recognised without the ROCs consent is obviously nonsense, the above talk about the US recognising it or the EU is rubbish. But what can happen is states like pakistan or other allies of turkey recognising it. Without any serious consequence to them more of these minor states will recognise the TRNC but none of the major world players. All that will serve to do is strengthen our hand in any future negotiation. Poll after poll states that TC's today would reject the annan plan, we are clearly not in any state to negotiate with you from a weak position. We will wait till we get what we want. The only exception to all this is if turkey has a REALISTIC chance of entering the EU and is very near achieving it. In that scenario I can see turkey forcing us to make big concessions, but given that at this moment in time that is a fairy tale Im not to worried. As long as sarkozy is in power, i feel safe.

The first time I heard the word “partition” was the Greek “Dihodomisis”, during the Turkish invasion by frustrated refugees fleeing the invader’s advances but of course they had no idea back then that TCs were hinting at 37% of territory that didn’t even belong to them!

The bottom line is that many GCs don’t have a problem with partition if it’s fair & square… in other words what you owned and NOT what you stole, so if your administration was serious about partition they would’ve made a SERIOUS offer by now but that has never happened.

For the RoC to change her stance she needs to start hearing from the TC administration, about the return of 15%+ of occupied territory… otherwise there is no incentive whatsoever and I’m sure you’ll agree or correct me if I’m wrong.

I'll meet you half way, 27.5% + half of Dekalia British base. You can also have about 75000 GCs in the Northern Territory as well as any TCs that wish to live in the south. Can't be fairer than that.I only said 50% of Dikelya That makes it about 25% of the Bases. Is that not right?

No all british bases to the roc,halfway is 22.5% and that is alot.

No Boulio, you can't give half way between your figures. Its half way between your top figure and my lowest figure + half of Dikelya, on account that my brother-in-law worked for them for 35 years.
