The name Tanzania is a portmanteau of Tanganyika and Zanzibar. The two states united in 1964 to form the United Republic of Tanganyika and Zanzibar, which later the same year was renamed the United Republic of Tanzania.
What my question is, I've heard that our two leaders are CONSIDERING reuniting as the "United Republic of Cyprus and Northern Cyprus". Could this be STAGE 1 of an ultimate, slow moving political road to forming the desired "United Republic of Cyprus"?
As part of this initial stage (the United Rep of Cyprus and Northern Cyprus), will work as two Cypriot autonomous states at first, but will eventually combine each fundamental operational area of their specific administration with that of the "Republic".
Any suggestions, information from the Greek Cypriots?
