You claim to respresent all Cypriots we dont...big difference.

No. You (what's left of you) can only represent Turkish military interests.

Of course cause they coincide with ours.

Ours? You and who's army? :wink:

Seriously, I can't argue with you on this one. You've got 40,000 troops on your side. They get their daily subsistence rations from the state, and so do you.

Correct, we do get financial support from our only ally Turkey.

Which means one of two things:

1. Cypriots supporting the part of the island not under the control of Turkey's military are the most astute international lobbyists the world has ever known;

2. Your position is entirely untenable as far as the rest of the world is concerned.

(Actually, I like to think it's a combination of the two - but either way you're in trouble).

Souroul,

if that is the case then any solution will need to take in to account the settlers wishes or is likely to be rejected in the promised referenda. if said solution is "send them back with their tails between their legs" my guess would be that they vote against it - Turkeys don't vote for Christmas.

what im still wondering about is why a settler wasnt voted in, just to seal the deal and make it perfectly clear.

the cyprus problem has become the settler problem

Precisely - the dangerous precedent was set in the Annan plan referendum that the right to vote - and thus the right to self-determination - is to be exercised not by the Turkish Cypriot community, but by anybody who has TRNC citizenship. These are two very different sets of people. The precedent has now been set and I don't see what can be done about it.

We will sit down and watch them punch it out...we will negotiate with the winners... :lol:

The settlers might go for a unitary state...they might appreciate the benefits they will get in return...

boomer,

not far wrong - if the GCs can offer the settlers a better life in the EU member RoC they may well vote for it - offer to kick them out and most likely vote against!
