UBP LEADER EROGLU: OUR SOLUTION PARAMETRES ARE IN HARMONY WITH THOSE OF TURKEY

The solution parameters of the National Unity Party are in harmony with those of Turkey, Dervis Eroglu has emphasized.

Issuing a written statement after gaining victory at Sunday’s early general election, the UBP Leader Dervis Eroglu said his party is in favour of any kind of solution to the Cyprus problem which foresees the existence of two peoples, two states and two democracies on the island.

Stating that the UBP will be establishing a fair and transparent administration, Mr Eroglu said the UBP is a mass-based party that embraces the Turkish Cypriot People as a whole, taking equality and justice as its basis.

`The full realization of human rights and freedoms is a primary goal. The UBP is the party which introduced the EU values, fundamental human rights and competitive free market economy to the TRNC and it will follow this path determinedly` Mr Eroglu said.

The UBP Leader stressed that his party pays particular attention to all international agreements envisaging leading principles on fundamental human rights and freedoms such as the Copenhagen political criteria.

`We will work to make the state a manservant of the Turkish Cypriot People which provides a good service of education and health, infra-structure and sustainable environment as well as new job opportunities` Dervis Eroglu added.

So he is the same shit like Dektash, Talat and most Turks and TCs. They all want partition and only use a bit different words to say it.

According to the poll, 80 per cent of Greek Cypriots want a unified state with a central government, while 71 per cent of Turkish Cypriots are in favour of two separate states with international recognition.

CEMIL CICEK: 2009 IS IMPORTANT FOR CYPRUS SETTLEMENT

The Turkish Government Spokesman and Deputy Prime Minister Cemil Cicek has once again pointed to the existence of two separate democracies and peoples in Cyprus, while evaluating Sunday’s early general election in the TRNC.

Mr Cicek, who is also the Minister of State in Charge of Cyprus Affairs, said general elections are made to determine the state administration and this proves the existence of a state.

Speaking to reporters after yesterday’s meeting of the Turkish Council of Ministers, Mr Cicek stated that the year 2009 is a very important year for Cyprus in terms of a political settlement.

Turkey supports Cyprus negotiations which aim to bring a fair and lasting solution to the Cyprus problem, he stressed.

`It’s our common desire to reach a settlement in Cyprus within this year which meets the expectations of both peoples of the island and conforms to the realities of Cyprus, as put on the negotiations table by the TRNC President Mehmet Ali Talat` Cemil Cicek went on saying.

Mr Cicek expressed the belief that the outcome of the TRNC general election, which he said proved the high TRNC democracy and institutionalization, will make a contribution to the solution of the Cyprus problem.

Cicek reiterated Turkey’s continuous support to the negotiations process and hoped that the election result will contribute to lasting peace in Cyprus.

Another statement over the TRNC election was issued by the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

The statement said that Turkey will continue to provide support to Turkish Cypriots in all fields and accurately realize its responsibilities as a motherland and one of the guarantor powers in Cyprus.

Mr. Eroglu had better remember one main thing: the international community will not recognize him as the Turkish Cypriot Leader, and thus will not deal with him. Remember when Mehmet Ali Talat was first elected 'Prime minister' whilst Rauf Denktas was still the 'president'? The US and EU stated that they would switch their recognition of leadership of the Turkish Cypriots from Denktas to Talat. The international community therefore will see Eroglu as obstructionist, and therefore, he will be sidelined... (at least until the 'presidential' election is held. If Eroglu wins that...)

President Talat has only 8 months left in office, Eroğlu is looking to take over so kiss any negotiations goodbye he dont even speak English.
