Whats arse licking about dieing together?

Leftists who supported the struggle against colonial rule but voiced their objections to the EOKA leadership's extremism were also targeted.

They certainly didn't lick anyone's arse. They didn't collaborate with Imperialists from any foreign power.

They died with dignity. And they died alone.

Surely you mean they were murdered in the most cowardly manner.

I only hope he has learned his lesson(s) by now, not to assume he knows the Turks, English and all the subjects and issues well, and go to meetings unprepared and taken by surprise. He nearly messed it up with the 23rd of May agreement; he made pre-mature concessions without anything in exchange (50,000 settlers and rotating presidency,) and went with already compromised starting positions (4:2 on ministerial cabin and on rotating presidency ratios,) when they should have only been his fallback positions which he could have even made to appear as concessions.

Never heard it put like that before. Admittedly they did employ TC Auxillaries to help them. I doubt that it was Brits and TCs versus EOKA. Perhaps some GCs will see it like that, but I disagree with the above statement. :?

The TCs had to side with Brits as they were not strong enough alone to stop Gcs from signing their death warrant by giving Cyprus to Greece.

Don't know how they were murdered but those who murdered them were not 'freedom fighter', they were terrorists.

You will never grow up. Siding with the British is one thing. The Turkish Community fighting with the British against EOKA is another thing. It was the Brit. v EOKA with the help of the Auxillaries.

It was, in this order (in terms of numbers killed) deniz:

• Imperialists, army and police (151)
• Collaborators (135)
• known Leftists (23)

verses EOKA

They were paid to, VP.

The were offered jobs in the auxiliary police. And they took the money.
