11.1% http://www.guardian.co.uk/country-profile/cyprusDoes this look like it can be referred to as a
main community? c.f. 80% for GCs!
Under these circumstances, isn't it looking even more
absurd that special demands continue to be made for 'community' political equality?
Do we really have to entertain parity for, e.g. a second Official language like Turkish, for such a
small minority?
The birth rate figure is interesting. If it remains unchanged the GC population would fall to 33% of the present number within five generations(discounting death rates/longevity improvements, mainly courtesy of US and UK scientists).
Bearing in mind that the birth rate in the TRNC is likely to be higher than in the south and immigration will continue GCs will look at a figure of 11.1% with envy. Don't worry
TCs are decent people and may entertain parity, for instance, a third official language i.e. Greek.
What you need is to get GCs like 'The Cypriot' back if they aren't as sexually sterile as they are morally.
