This election result shows the world that most TCs |(or at least settlers and their TMT brethren) never actually wanted to reunite.
It was a sham - a greedy woman looking for a meal ticket, thank god the marriage was called off in 2004.
As soon as the going got difficult in the pre-marriage dicussions she wanted to throw the towel in, even when things started looking more hopeful! That's commitment for you.
Well done TCs. The Turks have done a good job on you, you placed your faith in them like drooling poodles and they have done a far better job of annhilating you than any blood thirsty evil GC could have done.

TCs were always against a Greek ruled Cyprus. TMT has nothing to do with it. When TCs began to struggle against ENOSIS and Greek domination, Ataturk was 8 years old, Turkey was not established, there was no TMT or settlers or whatsoever. As long as majority of GCs and Greeks wish a Greek controlled Cyprus, TCs will always be against it. TCs well knew and know what's happened to Turks of Crete, Mora and Greece. TCs also r well aware of how intensified hatred and pre-judice filled into brains of nationalist GCs and Greeks.

Well what a crime of humanity for the GCs after thousands years of subjugation by ottomans and the rest, for the majority of the population to try to have a say of their affairs, the only time in history, and TCs couldn't stand it? So they set up a false flag bombing so we could never live together again....nice going....
anyway I'm veering a topic off topic. Really, I don't blame the TCs, I do blame the Turks for manipulation of a situation for their own greedy needs.

During the begining of the British rule, TCs asked the cession of Cyprus back to Turkey as a reaction to GCs Enosis demand. When TCs understood that cession of Cyprus back to Turkey is not feasible anymore, they began to demand partition of Cyprus if Enosis for GCs would be accepted. And if an independent Cyprus republic would be established, TCs asked political equality and guarantorship of Turkey. 60s agreements, treaties and RoC were satisfactory for TCs. The ones that not satisfied were GC nationalists who still desiring either Enosis or a Greek controlled Cyprus. I don't blame them. Had TC-Turk nationalists been under the circumstances of GC-Greek nationalists; most probably they would have done the same things GC-Greek nationalists done. What I wish u to understand is overwhelming majority of TCs backed by Turkey won't accept a Greek ruled Cyprus but be sure they would accept a governing structure based on political equality on legislative and judicial bodies.
