Online store/ auction site with cheap English things

Postby caseymoo » Sun Apr 19, 2009 7:13 pm

Hi I want to know your honest opinions on what you think to an online
shop with goods from England like towels, toiletries, jewellery all the latest English fashion, things from Primark and other cheap stores that you just dont have over there. I am trying to decide whether to do it as an online auction site or just as a basic shop, im thinking of selling cheap dvds, ugg boots, ghds, towels, cutlery, sun cream and other things at very cheap prices
compared to Cypriot prices, i lived there so i know how expensive things can be especially now with the Euro.

so give me your opinions and vote Auction site or Store and is it worth it?
I will be charging very low postage, at cost.

people who are internet savvy and buy online will buy dvds from play.com and toiletries/cosmetics from chemistdirect and garden.co.uk

i dont think u will be able to beat their prices, and they deliver to cyprus very cheaply

primark stuff/ cheap clothes, esp baby clothes, might work here

dont do an auction site though, just a normal e-shop

There are many wholesale sites that undercut play and chemist direct.
to be honest it will be a waste of time unless people buy bulk from you - shipping to cyprus is very expensive. dvds available on play for 2.99 are readily available for 1.49 it would be best if you opened a store here in cyprus.

Sorry, I have already commented via your thread on 'classified' but just wanted to mention that there is a 2 euro shop in Dheynia that has a fantastic trade because of what they sell and the price. They sell everything from dvd's to toileteries (sorry not the best speller), to house hold cleaners, toilet rolls, sweets and biscuit. So there is obviously a demand out there for cheap (reasonably priced) goods.

Hurry up and get things sorted!!!!!!!!!!

What area were you looking at?

I was mainly looking at the Paphos area because its where i used to live, my family and friends still live there and i speak the language i also have good contacts for cheap items and could afford to sell a lot of it for 2 euros anyway so yeah i think i will start online first an see how it goes
