Turkish Cypriots and the Joy of Looting.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Bananiot, as usual, made a put-down re. the Greeks expressing their disgust at the behaviour of Turks (and yes, it's mostly Governments at fault, but they do not always get in power on their own ... especially for quite as long as in Turkey's history, without something bad in the background amongst the general population! ) ..... Yet he remained unchallenged by any outside interlocutor! Strange! ...

To be fair to Bananiot, he didn't denigrate the entire 'Greek' nation, just people who, rightly or wrongly, he perceived as fascists.

And Yialousa... (if a poor village could speak, her houses, her school and her church would cry out with one voice: "in the name of all that is good, relinquish my name") ...then confirmed Bananiot's "fascist" accusation by labelling Turks without distinction as "blood-thirsty".

Oracle wrote:Interesting :? ... why rush to the defence of the Turks if it's not because we want to apologize for their behaviour ... as though they were unfit to make Human, mature decisions, which draw criticism (albeit it extreme)?

Do we see them as infantile? Unable to defend themselves because they have febrile brains?

Just so we're clear, I am not defending Cypriots of Muslim extraction on the CF. They are more than capable of doing that for themselves. And as for Turks? They are not my concern.

No, O mu, I am defending the honour of Cyprus – as a whole – and the memory of our beautiful lost village of Yialousa in particular. That one of her sons (I assume it's just a boy) should lower himself to label a whole nation of people 'blood thirsty' – without distinction – in public shames us all.

What are we, animals? No different to the drugged-up scum that forced us to flee our homes? Who stole our land? Who raped our women?

No, O. Whatever was taken from us in those black days of 1974, our dignity must not be included. Our island may be divided but our self-respect must remain intact.

Thanks, O. But let's be clear about what I care for and what I am sensitive too.

I'm just trying to make sense of this mess! :(

Yialoussa can stand up for himself ... he is more than capable, and I'll wait to see how he responds ....

http://agrino.org/yialousa/yialousaengl.html

He is the real victim here, don't you agree?

Dear The Cypriot ... the only thing I can piece together is that Yialoussa must be missing his home awfully badly ...

And Bananiot is riding on the wave of making himself look good ... because deep down inside he gets some kind of perverse pleasure at both torturing his fellow GCs with accepting their losses ... whilst all the while he sucks up to the Turks ... when psychologically ... you must admit, dear ... they don't need our help!

They make us fight because we are compassionate .... and we care!

I agree. He is a victim. I too have strong family connections with Yialousa.

I feel his pain. You'll know just how much soon enough...

I am not here to help the Turks. I want what's best for Cyprus and all her people.

Yialousa. Do you believe every 'Turk' or 'Turkish Cypriot' is blood thirsty?

Every single one of them?

That is what you meant isn't it?

(And try and answer without insults or aggression, otherwise don't bother).

Yeah that's what I meant and if their not at this moment they have the potential to be as shown in the 1950's and 1960's. When mumer Turkey came in 1974 they helped out then, didn't they?

The best part in that post is the section where nazii kizilyurek, an 'academic' who lives and works in the south is considered to be a 'known anti-greek'.

Yes little turkkan ... the sad fact is there are too many of you Turk-descendants living in Cyprus who are anti-Greek ... and anti-freedom ... and anti-Human etc!

We have a long way to go ....
