Is Cyprus Ripe for a 'Velvet Revolution'?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

The obvious first objective for a New People Power, the Liberation of Famagusta for which we have an effective UN mandate.

Open the two ports and you will have plenty. Varosha, Omorfo, about 75000 back to their homes, about 7% of land back and access to Turkish ports, what more do you need?

You just have to pay to build North Omorfo for the TCs

This time next year we'll all be millionaires Bill.

I would suggest Cypriots, en masse, from both sides dress up in traditional vrages and march peacefully into Famagusta, with loads of eyies je gueles, and have a massive barbeque on the beach....

I'm not proposing toppling our lovely Communist Government. I mean, even the USA is adamant it is perfect, the one and only legitimate Government of Cyprus:

“Now, I want to repeat to be very clear so there is absolutely no misunderstanding... we do not recognise any government other than the government of the Republic of Cyprus”

.... State Department official on behalf of Hilary Clinton. (Quoted in the Cyprus Mail)

But for how long are we going to allow those Turk-TCs to play at pretend politics, holding pseudo-elections and trying to set up some kind of splinter "governmental-power-groups" - in our country?

Hmmm... I must prepare myself for a counter revolution. 8) A "purple revolution" that would reset "RoC" into RoC. 8)

... but seriously (briefly) 35 years is a pretty long time. The more I type it, 35 years, the longer it sounds.

I wonder how the peaceful revolutions in E. Europe were organised.

Make sure you don't end up in Istanbul, like he did.
