very twisted logic, a norm for many GCs....

Not twisted at all in our situation. Most of the Cyprus problem is a twisted logic for other countries too anyway.

You didnt answer my question though, do u trust the army there Viewpoint and do you honestly believe them for everything?

Yiannis GC have an uncanny skill of twisting even the most evident and clear issues unpside and down and coverting black into white.

I trust the army for my protection, the sheer fact that they are stationed here for over 30 years has detered GCs from attempting anymoe violence against our community. 40.000 Turkish soliders scares the shit out of you guys, so you have think twice now, not like pre 1974..

No it's not ONLY rumors. There are also facts:
Fact No 1: The Turks said he was killed at his sentry post.It was proved a lie because at the sentry post there were found only one drop of blood.
Fact No 2. The killed soldier received 12 bullets and the other one 11. Only 10 shells were found in the area.
Fact No 4. And the most important one: The Turks did not allow the survived soldier to speak to anyone, nor to the media. That would be your proof . Isn’t it strange that your side did not use it's proof?

Murtaza, yes man I watched Karagoz shadow theaters many times in my life.In fact there were professional Karagoz players when I was a kid, now very few left.Yes in the theater Karagoz and Hacavat and all those heros are intelligent and funny. But in Greek when we tell someone Get the hell out of here Karagoz, or call someone Karagoz, it is equal to "idiot" .Don't call my arguments "stupid" or I will continue calling you Karagoz. Read my arguments carefully, and answer with your own arguments without swearing.

Look dont even dare trying to generalize this ok. I never speculated that this is definitely an act of the turkish army. What i said was that it can easily be an act from them too for their own use. I as well know that it can also be a GC that shoot him out of revenge. However the fact that ur side wouldnt give evidence to the british makes me suspect that its more likely an act of the Turkish/TC Army.

Oh ok i gotcha, so u are one of those that seriously think that GC will start a killing spring if Turkish Troops leave. Now tell me your logic in this my friend.

No Trust.

So you still insist that GC will start killing TC if Turkish Troops go away.
Ok then answer me if indeed you cannot trust us in not harming you then why exactly there was no single act of violence between TCs and GCs since the border opened up (act of violence i dont mean a fight and especially not something not related to act of pure nationalism)???Let me tell you why.Because the amount of GCs honestly believing that TCs should be killed and also have the guts to do it i would say that can be counted in my fingers. And yet even those that will be willing to do it will be stoped by GCs because their whole country's fate will be on risk.

And how exactly border can be a reason for GCs not to act violently???
The army is no reason my friend.I dont think that Turkey will hesitate intervening if a GCs start a killing spring.
Anyhow what im trying to say here is why is it concidered so unacceptable for TCs if Turkey removes the army from there provided that the right quarantees are given to protect the TCs just in case??? Why this phobea Viewpoint?? Yes i know that its caused by the GC at the first place but is it logical to still have it today.
And finally in your logic GCs should also be scared as hell that one night a TC will come and kill them out of revenge. And please dont tell me that we have our army. The army is there to guarantee the safety of the island from external powers. Is the police's job to investigate a murder not the army's.

Yiannis the army is a great deterrant for radical nationalist GCs that we so clearly saw during the referendum campaigns in 2004. The fact that we have this big brother protecting us removes the use of violence at the current time. Just evaluate the situation betweeen our communities if the army leaves, we would be in a much weaker negotiating position, the fact that we do not trust GCs intentions as being sincere at this current juncture in time will not allow us to get over the psycological barrier of needing the army for our protection. As for guarantees from other parties, I as a TC still feel that in anytime of conflict the GCs would use all means to stop interference as they do with many issues and are very good at. to proceed as they wish, I do not trust any other party as much as Turkey to take action that would protect TCs.

The border is a very good deterrant for any inter community problems, we have safe havens where we feel safe and not vunerable, we in the north you in the south. Just imagine if both communities lived mixed prior to a comprehensive solution, it would only take a few idiots from either side to ignite problems that would result in deaths and hate. To be very honest and I have asked other TCs they agree with me, I still feel a sense of relief and safety when i return to the north. How we will overcome this mindset I cant really say but the current climate is not helping one bit many TCs have stopped crossing due to GC attitude and a regurgiating of tactics to undermine any progress being made. We still view the south as being totally NO thus very negatively.
