Why do you associate majority rule with tyranny?

Historically it is splinter, minority groups which have tyrannised traditional norms ... So far it is the TCs who are behaving like tyrants illegally living on lands ethnically cleansed of the rightful owners.

Go figure

Because thats what always happens when people explicitly ask for majority rule. Particularly when it is uttered by those who dream of Hellenism, who deny that Cyprus has any Turkish input and who only care about their own community and not of Cyprus as a whole.

I don't believe you really think the way you do Oracle, I think you think this forum is a bit of a laugh to you, but the damage you are doing to Cyprus by arguing your Hellenism, by pushing away T/Cs like Insan to opposite extremist thinking by rejecting him and offering him no place in your Cyprus is enormous and will take decades to fix, if it can be fixed at all.

What we explicitly ask for is Democracy. Interpret it as you wish, but do not lecture me on tyranny whilst a small minority holds my whole country to ransom.

As for Insan ... he has been posting here for way longer than myself, and his posts are extremely, superbly Turkish Nationalist inspired ... So perhaps it is BECAUSE of people like him that I started posting!

But of course you would come here and try and support the spread of his Turkish Nationalist propaganda .... since you are proving to be cut from the same cloth!

(Perhaps you could give some cloth back to insan  )

U r ridiculous Oracle as usual. Everyone, not only TCs and Turks; who does not support ur ultra-nationalist arguments and thesis r Turkish nationalists or "paid" journalists or "traitors".

Insan, I told you a million times not to be so aggresive towards our Hellenic friends, after all they are human too you know.

Either I'm not aware of my agressiveness or I am comprehended as agressive by some forum members. I consider myself a romantic, smoothy even have tolerance towards EOKA-B that I suggested to examine EOKA-B and it's actions according to criminology and the ideology they believe. :o

Pla show me just a single post of mine that I insulted someone on this forum before i was insulted. :)

"U r ridiculous Oracle as usual" is agressive in Orakill's eyes!

Insan, I agree with much of what you say except the point about "Ottoman descendants." Sure some were immigrant from Anatolia and elsewhere as Ottoman administrators etc, but a good majority were not ethnically Turk, though many were indeed Muslim. Many Cypriots are 'Turkish' as a result of their predecessors religious conversion, just like across the whole Balkan-Aegean-Anatolian region, and those 'Greeks' who converted from Islam. Or those 'Turks' who were Christian, or those 'Greeks' who were Muslim.

We r all aware of that we r mixed blood human beings, copperline. What I meant was the TCs that feel themselves descendants of Ottomans or let's say feel that have closer ties with Turkish speaking Cypriots and Turkish speaking "Turks". :)

Young Turkish Cypriots are less "Cypriot" than their parents, but by the same token, the children of Anatolians are far more "Cypriot" than their parents.I am convinced that if there is no settlement soon and the status quo continues for another 20 years, as the current young generation goes to school and grows up together, we will see the emergence of a new hybrid culture incorporating both Cypriot and Anatolian elements. Intermarriage will become very common. There is a universal phenomenon whereby the children of immgrants outperform local children in schools and few of these go on to achieve prominence. I would expect to see quite a few of the children of Turkish migrants to eventually rise to fame in various fields.
Once this happens, I fear that all hopes of eventual reunification will be buried. A demographic time bomb is ticking away.

So what are you saying , Tim, is that, when the time comes to send most of the settlers back, we should include some True TC's to go with them who are less Cypriot than other True TC's and keep some more settlers because they are more Cypriot than Anatolians.?

I guess 50,000 is 50,000, therefore I would rather see more Cypriot way of thinkers than Turkish (Turkey) thinkers in Cyprus, which means people like VP, Insan, Zan, Runaway and few more can be replaced with the Cypriot leaning thinker settlers.! At the same time, the Cypriot thinking settlers can also replace some of the Greek (Greece) thinking GC's.!

I think "lovernomore" had the same idea and already knew what the offsprings would look like with the above "cocktail mix" you have suggested when he proposed to have this picture to be part of his avatar.!

You know, slowly introduce the future generation to us in advance.!

God knows what the offsprings will look like if you also add VP into the mix.?

I am saying that if the current negotiations fail, radical demographic change will affect the Turkish-speaking community in Cyprus to the extent that this will sweep all the old paradigms away.

Agree with you, Tim.!

This is the danger that concerns me, that the "old" TC's fading away and leaving behind a new generations who only understand how to be "spoon fed" by Turkey for their survival, but not realising the dangers of such actions will only mean permanent loss of TC's from the island at some point when Turkey will have no problem exchanging "her people" for a place in the EU.!

Turkey will never enter the EU and we all know that but as you say given time the TCs in the north will become more and more Turkish and less and less Cypriot you can see this happening all the time. This development is preferred 1000% to the alternative of living as a minority in a GC state run by GCs.
