thanks for the advice everyone! I have now booked to view a few villas in Pissouri next week after looking at the web site

Hi lollygriff.
What you are describing sounds like Larnaca. Cypriot culture with expats around 15mins away in Oroklini, not far from the beach, wherever you live. Broadband internet everywhere, close to main shops, 25 mins and you are in Ayia Napa if you want to let your hair down, 25 mins and you are in Nicosia, 45-50mins and you are in Limassol.
A good place for you to look at would be Aradippou.
