Tell that to the long-suffering people who, 2000 years ago, were expelled from their homeland by the Romans; dispersed to the four corners of the globe. When will they be healed if you think the Cypriots will be healed?

And tonight's a particularly special night in the divided holy city of Jerusalem.

400 years didn't stop you lot thinking you were still Turkish!

"No ties with the GC south" suits us perfectly ... less tears when you are made to return to Turkey!

Did several thosands of years stop u or TPap, Kyrpranou, Makarios, Klerides and their supporters thinking u were still Greek? Keçi güldü goyuna

What national cause Greece and GCs struggle for and u give them support?

Exactly dear ... now please tell VP who goes around pretending the TCs are so stupid that a few decades will make them all have connections with Turkey which they supposedly did not already have!

Just don't forget the natives (GCs) are the people who were here before the "last" invaders!

Youth organizations of political parties of Cyprus(in both sides) have very good and friendly ties. Many young and elder individuals also have good friendships, trade relations etc. Even if there were 2 sperate states on Cyprus, they would still have similar good relations. Vast majority of TCs have organizational and individual good relations with Turks in Turkey too. What's wrong with it? Haven't GCs have similar good realtions with Greeks of Greece? Everyone is free to get into any kind of realations with people or organizations across the globe. Is there something wrong with it?

GCs r not the natives of Cyprus. GCs can be considered as former inhabitants of Cyprus when compared to TCs. Being the former inhabitants of Cyprus does not give u the ownership of Cyprus neither it gives u the total control of Cyprus.

I was first told I was a Cypriot by my friends in Istanbul. They love Cypriot culture there and admire us islanders who they consider to be cool. Some Turks pretend to be Cypriot; its cool in Turkey to be a Kibrisli.

So I am a proud Cypriot, proud of my little nation and I have close Turkish friends and get on very well with Turks and Greeks too for that matter.

Take a look at the results of the poll VP , a straightforward question .Do take into account that two T/Cs have posted their preference without casting their vote. I should think that the overwhelming majority of T/Cs do feel that the whole island is their homeland . I can say that this poll conclusively signals that the vast majority do not share your views .
As for your statement that " considerable number do not see the GC south as theirs " may I refer you to the results so far of the poll.

Dont get to excited miltiades its still remains that a considerable percentage do not reagard any part of the GC south Cyprus as theirs. there are a number of Tcs who have not voted and have not been around for a while zan being one.

Z4 , Cem , YFred , Deniz , Iceman , Vuryek , Insan , TC as well well as Halil and Kikapu who have not voted , all T/Cs , have told us that they are indeed T/Cs and consider ALL of Cyprus to be their beloved homeland. I dont see what is extraordinary about this !! Their parents , grandparents and beyond were born , raised , lived and buried in our Cyprus why on earth should they or anyone else for that matter feel otherwise.
VP , you are in the minority , I know more about my T/C compatriots than you will ever know , you see I lived amongst them , shared sleeping quarters as a child and grew up having not one iota of enmity for them , they were my little mates that I played with , shared my happy moments with and my sad ones . Growing older we all were adversely indoctrinated by nationalistic malicious powers that implanted the seeds of hatred for our brothers and sisters , hatred that led to the tragedy that enveloped our entire island and caused so much pain and suffering to our people.

It would have been interesting to know the ages of the two groups. Whether those born under the Northern Admin voted different from those born before '74; or are they originating from the south, as I do. I suppose it will remain a secret.

Now its time for yet another poll Milti. You can ask your compatriots of the Orthodox faith whether they would like to live in a unitary state or as separate entities (separate zones/federal) ? Make the classifications meaningful.

deniz can you tell us why you voted that the GC south is your country?

The GC South (whatever that is) is NOT my home. My home is the Island of Cyprus. I was brought up in my village in the district of Larnaca. My ancestors are buried in my village cemetery. Why should I not call Cyprus my home/my country. My home country is indivisible.......

I dont see why others have to explain themselves, but lets see.

Deniz
Thank you for your reply to that stupid question...my exact sentiments..

I was born in Limassol,so was both my parents...their parents were born in Limassol,Episkopi,Malia,Androlikou.
My ancestors are from all over the part which happens to be south of the presently divided island, how can i say my home is north?
Although i lived most of my life in Kyrenia,i can never get myself to reply Kyrenia when people ask me where i am from..I always say i am from Limassol but live in Kyrenia..
I suppose this will go till the day i die...then the next generation who never knew undivided Cyprus (like VP) can call the north their home.

Its the older generation like me that needs to rein in people like you. Then tere are a lot of older generations that go along with your ideas. So your statement is misplaced.

The horse can jolly-well bolt back to where it came from. It's the donkey we want to save.
