Again it depends upon location; in Pafos rental rates are somewhat less than they were 5 years ago; in Nicosia things are much better.

Rental and property prices are still holding up in Nicosia, mainly due to it being a mainly local market without any tourist element.

I have a problem, I don't think I can continue to fund my Cyprus mortgage. I have been battling against the pound/euro conversion and it's crippling! If I had back the keys to the mortgage company what can I expect to happen?

Do they pursue the debt in the UK?

Thanks

C

Sorry to hear that, are you a Cypriot citizen?

Sad business. I rented out a fully renovated 3 bed house for two years to Cypriots, no problem. I then took on a British couple, good jobs and refrences.
They stayed four months then left the country, never paid the last months rent. They took all they could carry including the cooker. They had shit the bed, broken tiles and the place was full of fleas and filth.
If you do rent out take a sizeable deposit, and trust no-one.
