Absolutely Kifeas, but they are all students of one school, not a representative team from all such schools in one country. Here is what the regulations stipulate on this:

2.2 All players in the boys team must have been enrolled at the same school since the beginning of the school year 2008-2009.

2.4 Each team shall be composed of 18 players, 2 teachers and 1 referee.

2.6 Players must be enrolled as full-time students at the school which they represent. They must be attending schools which provide a general education (General Competition Rules GCR - 7.3)

The following are not eligible to participate (GCR - 7.7):

a) pupils of vocational schools who only attend that school as a complement to their vocational training;
b) school teams and pupils enrolled at schools which provide sports training without any general education;
c) part-time (e.g. afternoon) sports schools which take pupils from a variety of schools for training in one or more sports;
d) teams formed as part of clubs, companies, universities or other institutions.

Therefore, we cannot say that the Cypriot Football is developing so much because it is not a reliable fact. For it to be reliable, students from the whole Cyprus had to be chosen to represent our island and so do other countries should do.

Ok dude, you're entitled to your opinion. But what should I see? A country of 700 k inhabitants, for what we've managed after losing a third of our country is pretty remarkable. Ranked 28th HD index in the world is not exactly 3rd world. The problem I think, is that Nationalism runs a little too deep in Turkish culture. Obviously you've been taught to think negatively towards us. In your eyes, we'll ALWAYS be inferior to you. 1 Turk = the world, CcC "Ne Mutlu Turkem Diyene" etc sounds about right.

If you don't know Marcos Baghdatis, then who do you know?
He is the best Cypriot tennis player and was even ranked in the top-10 of the world last year. This year is around #90.

Do you know when and under what circumstancies those phrases were used, if you did you would understand but you choose not to see what you want not what you should. Who says we think you are inferiorer,no TCs thinks that way obviously yet again you see what you want not what you should.

Bananiot, it is obvious you are trying to suggest that Cyprus may have sidestepped some of the rules of the competition. Let me ask you two questions though.

1. Regardless of the fact that some of the players in the Cypriot team may have parents originating from various parts of Cyprus, and regardless of the fact that they may also have affiliations or are registered with clubs outside Nicosia, how do you know they are not all registered students of the same school? Why is this impossible or unlikely? What evidence do you have that this may not be the case?

2. If Germany, with a population of 80 million, has only around 50 such sports schools (with boarding facilities for inside living,) in which their best talents from all over Germany and from all sports are probably registered with; how many such schools would Cyprus need in order to cater for all its talents? Would it need more than one such school? What would have been the difference in such a case?
