What does it matter who is in the "leadership" role. When Turkey tells them to jump, they just reply" How High Sir", or do you think they tell Turkey to "get lost".? I don't think so.!

Its very sad that you have so little regard for Talat. He spent many years not doing it and not being allowed to come to power. I think with AKP in power we have the best chance for peace. By the end of this year, it may evaporate, especially if Eroglu comes to power and AKP lose the election in Turkey.

Talat simply is not in a position to tell Turkey anything. The actions of Turkey to TCNC is not that of state-to-state, but of a state to a protectorate (or more accurately, a colony). Reading the text of the 1983 UDI, it proclaims a sovereign state, but TCNC is anything but sovereign given it's economic and political stranglehold over the administration that is obstensively the "government".

protectorate...colony...sovereign..stranglehold...obstensively

Utu these are big words and you should refrain from using them...people come from various intelligent degrees and the member you are addressing comes from the bottom end of the scale...keep this in mind next time you address someone in this forum...

Okay, you regard the Turkish forces as protective, but to an outsider, the number of Turkish troops makes it look more like an occupation than a defensive protective force. That, plus the Turkish military's influence in Turkish politics makes it also a political force in TCNC, and that makes a mockery of your 1983 UDI.

Here we go again! Utu, imagine that TCs have 17.000 NG and 60-70 thousands of TC reservists with a population of 900.000 and GCs have 3000 NGs and 12-15 thousands of GC reservists with a population of 150-300 thousands... Do u think, in such a situation; there would have been less than 25-30 thousands of Greek troops in South?

John Lennon is Insan's favorite...

"Imagine all the people,
wearing a Turkish fez,
oooooh, ooooh...
you may say that I'm a dreamer,
but I'm not the only one... "

I would have thought that you'd regard the above as a nightmare, not a dream...

How do you suggest that Turkey got in so much bother over the EU regarding Cyprus, if they were in so much control. Denktash had the Tiger by the tail and placed TCs where they are today and The Turks too. Think about it, what is Turkey going to do to the TCs? let them starve to death. How? who are you kidding.
I have heard personally from someone very close to Dengtash, that he absolutely refused to do what Turkey wanted him to do, if he had listened to Turkey, Cyprus problem would have been solved by now.
