And what UN decision? The UN said it was up to individual countries to recognise (or not) Kosovo's independence!

TRNC PRESIDENT TALAT SAID HE WOULD WELCOME THE APPOINTMENT OF A NEW US ENVOY

President Mehmet Ali Talat has met with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Washington.

Talat told reporters after the meeting in Washington, DC that he had a very constructive meeting with Hillary Clinton.

"I explained Turkish Cypriots' views about the Cyprus negotiation process.

Clinton extended the United States' support to the solution process for several times", the President said.

Speaking at a press conference, President Talat said that the approach of the new US Administration towards the Turkish Cypriot people was very warm.

Reiterating the view that there was a `window of opportunity` to solve the Cyprus problem by the end of 2009, Mr Talat said he would welcome the appointment of a new US special envoy for Cyprus.

Mr Talat said that the United States asked the Turkish Cypriot Side to maintain their stance in support of a settlement in Cyprus.

"The United States has very clearly showed its support to the solution process," he said.

The President also explained that he had asked the United States to prevent the Greek Cypriots from humiliating the Turkish Cypriots in international arena, and help lift the isolation on the TRNC.

Reminding that the meeting which was first proposed for the 30th of March, was postponed as a result of Greek-Greek Cypriot Lobby’s efforts, he said `this meeting was not prevented. This was the result of the Turkish Cypriots’ peaceful politics`.

Asked to comment on next week’s meeting between Greek Cypriot Foreign Minister Marcos Kyprianou and Hillary Clinton, he said `it is very natural, it doesn’t matter to me. What we are seeking is equal right to speak and equal treatment`.

Speaking to reporters after Talat-Clinton meeting, a high-level US diplomat has said that the United States was supporting President Talat's constructive efforts for a settlement.

The diplomat said Washington was also backing the ongoing Cyprus negotiations to reunite the island under a bi-zonal and bi-communal structure.

On the appointment of a new U.S. special envoy for Cyprus, the diplomat said `Now isn’t the right time, and the best solution will be between the two Cypriot peoples`.

The diplomat said the United States was not ignoring any alternative, and added that the Turkish Cypriot people should be supported when seeking a solution on the island.

The diplomat also noted that the US Administration did not have a special plan on its own on the Cyprus issue, adding that Washington was in support of UN efforts.

There is not a Turk in the Woarld to be able to call a Greek idiot. reason? your mind is centuries behind this of Greeks. Your complex as Nation always was that Greeks created civilization and you just created chaos and genosides and ok I agree, good small villages bridges.

You copy your life to be like Europeans (Attaturk) but your sol is just Mongolian.

Greeks created Europe and I remind you in order you as nation be able to be a Eurpe member you can here yes not from Ombama but from smll Greece and smallr Cyprus.Do opu know why?Because we are small in size today but Great in constribution of the World you want to lieve.Pls therefore pure minded Turk do not call a Greek gain as idiot because even you are today write with latin letters you owe this to the fact that Attatturk youth frients were Greeks in Thessaloniki.

You are just a Race always following civilizations and never crate one.

Therefore idiot try to convist your stupid state to crate a Democratic system an then come back with application to be accepted a human being

Ask any Military man, which they would prefer to fight and be prepared to be surprised at the answer.
The Russians could not defeat the taliban in Afghanistan, nor will the Yanks.
What does it prove?
