I only have one passport and it's British. So I am a British national. I suppose I could get myself a Cypriot passport but I've never needed one. I'm not certain if I would ever need one now, since Cyprus joined the EU.

I have a British passport and a Cyprus ID which I use instead of my passport when travelling to Cyprus. These days I very seldom have to use my passport.
I have great affinity to Britain having lived here for almost 48 years and have in my family many English relatives.
I think successive British governments have done a great disservice to their own people but there again they , the politicians , are only in politics for what their greedy little hands can get. They have reduced a once great nation to the levels of third world countries , look at the latest obscenity of the British Home Secretary charging the taxpayer for her and her husbands pornographic films , knowing them as now do I' m certain if Viagra was needed they bloody well claimed for it. A disgrace , how dare they sink so low.
Enough of the Brits , some say that the British exploited the entire world but none so excessively as their own people.
A statue of Mohamad Gandhi is due to be erected in a Leicester street , great man he was , now the Pakistanis are demanding a statue of Mohammad AlI Jinnah , sure to be followed by demands of statues for Bin Fucking Laden , I tell you the country is gone mad , bloody coronation street for 60 years Eastenders for 30 , and the other rubbish that the Brits enjoy leaves them no time to concentrate on important issues.

I am not too sure that your Cypriot ID is valid for travels to other EU states. Also , I suspect that on your ID, NATIONALITY is stated as BRITISH.

The Cypriot ID is valid for travel throughout the EU.
My Cypriot ID , first issued to me in 1958 , stated my Nationality as British.
My replacement one which was issued in Limassol a few years back states my nationality as CYPRIOT / BRITISH.
The only time I would use my British passport is for travel outside the EU .
I will in due course replace it for a Cypriot one so that if travelling outside the EU a distinction can be made between your average modern day Briton , see below , and this here Cypriot.
