Byron, that number indicates how many times the thread clicked by members and guests.

Well its still more than 28 unless those 28 votees were clicking all day.

I meant that continually increasing number just indicates how many times this thread was viewed by logged in members and guests.

OK I take your point, but surely the forum can match more than 28 votes unless as I suspect the poll was too simplified.

Byron, how would making it more complicated attract more votes?

I worded the questions very carefully to see:

1. how many people were ready for genuine Cypriot-inspired unity (as opposed to foreign-inspired pseudo-unity as per 1960 or 2004)

and

2. how many were still so motivated by imported nationalism and hatred for the 'other', that they'd opt for an equitable partition and the embrace of their respective "motherlands".

28 votes isn't a bad polling after a day and half. The last major poll had 32 votes in total.

If you're over 18, you can vote too, and swell the voice of unity!

Its only logical for you to defend your own poll.

I recently said, that if and only if, I receive a full apology from Miltiades then I would cast my vote. Can't see that happening now and will move away from this thread. Well at you least you half apologised .

Milti did apologise. In Greek. And I had nothing to apologise for as I didn't accuse you of lying.

What he wrote is not an apology. I didn't ask him to light a candle for me !!!

I wish him to say sorry BYRON and other forum members I deliberately lied, it will not happen again! Quite simple really but then again he is free to act accordingly.

That to me is an apology. If he does that I shall cast my vote even if I do not share the way it has been set up.

Cypriot,

Why do you assume, that the south will become Greece and that all it's citizens would then become Greek.?

If the majority choose option 2, that's what they'd have opted for: Union with Greece. (Within this hypothetical scenario).

Kikapu wrote: Also, why do you assume, that the RoC would give up it's independent sovereignty and lose her EU veto powers by simply agreeing to have a partition.?

Again, it's just hypothetical. If people vote for 2, in our hypothetical world, they'd be voting for the dismantling of the RoC and the ceding of 82% of Cyprus's territory to Greece (and losing their right of veto).

Kikapu wrote: Why don't you run another poll and see how many GC's would like to become part of Greece.!

Not sure we'd get an honest result. What would be to stop non GC's (like VP) from voting to skew results? We already can see from this poll that few if any would want to become part of Greece. I suspect most (if not all) who have voted for 2, are actually TC's.

Kikapu wrote: There are other countries where there are more than one ethnic groups and languages spoken regardless of the percentages of each group which no one sees themselves as a majority or a minority. Cyprus can become a country just as Switzerland where the above ethnic groups live all as Swiss.

Kikapu, if Cypriots want that in our hypothetical world, they'd vote 1. And as you can see the vast majority (and their friends) want just that.

We all know that most TC's (perhaps for religious reasons) prefer lamb to the porkies he has to offer.

Cypriot,

First of all, thank you for the compliments. I try to be very objective in what I write, despite rubbing few people the wrong way, specially those from my own community, the TC's, hence my avatar.!

May I ask you if you are a Cypriot yourself, and if so, which ethnicity do you belong to.? I was also very surprised that you have only made less than 200 contributions to the forum in the last 3 years before this latest thread, which seems strange for someone who has great interest in Cyprus. Our good friend Deniz can easily make 200+ posts........... per week.!

I have stated many times, that I never take part in any of the polls conducted on the CF. The reasons being, there are many people on the forum with more than one “ID”, therefore the results cannot be relied on. The only way I would vote on any polls on the CF, if it's an open poll where individuals state their positions "in person".

Let me give you an example. I went through the 20 pages on this thread and came up with ONLY 18 different ID's, but you had 28 individuals who had voted. I did not vote, and if we were to take Byron's and VP's word, they have also claimed of not voting, which leave only 15 of the 18 who had voted (maybe), but yet we have 28 confirmed votes. Of course it is possible, that some might vote without taking part in the thread, but on the subject you had presented, I have my doubts. The only conclusion that I can reach is, you have almost 50% votes cast in this poll as not being reliable. This is the reason why I do not cast a "secret" vote. Lets have an open vote and see what the figures are. There is no need to hide behind the keyboards on this one.!

Anyone who is aware of the story behind "Animal Farm" also understands that calling someone a "PIG" relating to this story, as I did with VP, knows full well that I was not calling VP a PIG or anyone else for that matter, and VP understands this very well. I would not be so insensitive to call anyone a PIG, specially anyone from the Muslim religious community, whether they practice their religion or not. I do however call VP what he is very openly, which is, a Racist Fascist NeoPartitionist who has disregards for the Rule of Law, Democracy and Human Rights, as well as protecting criminals accused of murder and those commiting sins of HARAM by stealing others properties and selling them to others, which he himself has many times confirmed to us all, regarding his lack of HUMANITY through his postings.!

Kiks, you are oblivious to how more relevant your avatar is to yourself and the GCs which you keep siding with.
