Cyprus's heart must be very heavy having to be denied the right to exist as a nation in its own merit. Strangely enough all international organizations from the UN to the EU recognise Cyprus as an independent country with its own unique identity. Our passports IDs , foreign embassies all have the Cypriot entity yet those that deny Cyprus its divine right of statehood are confused Cypriots who are themselves in denial of their real identity.
LONG LIVE THE CYPRUS E T H N O S !
There is no such thing as a Cypriot ETHNOS.
There is a Cypriot state of which we are proud members but 82% of this state is ethnically Greek.
Just like 98% of the Austrian population is German yet they are still proud to be Austrians.

Get over this insecurity because you're overcompensating by creating things that simply are not there. I am proud to be a Cypriot, swore my allegiance to the Republic of Cyprus when I did my service and follow the Cypriot National football team religiously (threw the last one in for good measure). BUT I AM NOT ETHNICALLY CYPRIOT SAME AS AN AUSTRIAN IS NOT ETHNICALLY AUSTRIAN.
BTW naturally I voted for option 1
I still want to know who were the Cypriots who lived on this island some 8600 before the Greeks arrived!! Convince me that during this huge period of time my ancestors were not around in Cyprus as Cypriots and that they were introduced to Cyprus by the Greeks and then I may begin to doubt the Ethnos Of Cyprus.
ps. Is there an Australian Ethnos , or an American ?
I also think that Austrians would disagree with you !!
Milt I'm not going to get into this with you as I believe that you have all dragged this out way more than it should have. I will tell you however that there's more chance of your ancestors being arabs rather than aboriginal Cypriots.
